Fantastic collection of art, sculpture, ceramics - some exhibits up to 5000 years old. Manageable in half a day. And it's free (they ask for a donation). Highly recommended - surprises around every corner, especially in the art galleries.

Just bowled over by the beautiful art by so many artists I knew, loved the samplers. The coins I need to back to and the porcelain in more depth. A hidden gem. So much to see and was 'museumed out' Definitely coming back!.

Worth to visit this beautiful museum which is holding historical stuff from all over the world. It’s free and in centre location of Cambridge city. Building itself is a beautiful architecture. Not big as London Museum but still offering a lot from all over the world specially Egyptian, Greek, Roman etc which is spreading different time period.

Lovely well maintained museum. Plenty to see. Cafe was average price but delicious cakes and coffee. Toilets on site were clean. Well done Fitzwilliam museum. If in Cambridge, you must take time to visit, and it's free entry.

Beautiful museum, which is definitely worth a visit! It's free and there are also a gift shop and a cafe. There is a lot to see, so you would need a few hours to see all the galleries. You can see art from all over the world and you can see artefacts from different time periods. There are sections dedicated to Egyptian, Greek and Roman history, just to name a few.

Excellent Cambridge museum. The current exhibition: Islanders The Making of the Mediterranean - which runs until 4 June - is spellbinding. It spans thousands of years, from neolithic Crete to Roman period Sardinia and includes an object that is 9,000 years old. The exhibition is free is free to enter but a ticket is required. The museum's permanent collection is also amazing; I particularly like the ceramic pieces that are on display.

Very nice. Not as big as the British museum in London but that's a good thing since you can really look at the exhibit in depth. I recommend going here if you are in Cambridge.

An enormous range of artworks, some especially famous ones such as Monet's. Great selection of flower still lifes, along with religious artworks. Art is sorted by country of origin. There is a gigantic collection of ceramics, varying in age. The gift shop is large and quite good, there is also a café.

What a fantastic museum Lots and lots to see art works , glass and crafts from many hundreds of years ago and even works by the masters Canaletto , Monet significant artifacts from history etc. It would easily take a day to get around as there's so much to see but a repeat visit is advised like the London museums there is so much content to take in on a single day . The museum has a very nice restaurant and a large gift shop selling loads of good stuff art books related to the artists on display toys games allsorts :) We have done most of the Cambridge museums over the years but this one is by far my new favourite ........and its free !!

In the heart of Cambridge City Centre - you can visit the amazing fitzwilliam museum full of culture , knowledge and history. Every year we visit the museum to discover and explore new art work and antiques. You can see everything from Egyptian coffins to Impressionist masterpieces; illuminated manuscripts to Renaissance sculpture; rare coins to Asian arts. The Museum was named in Fitzwilliam's honour and his objects, artworks, books, manuscripts and more became its founding collection.

Amazing museum with full of interesting exhibitions and a nice gift shop. This museum is smaller, than I expected. However, especially the main hall interior architecture with the glass cupola is really stunning. When I visited during weekday the place wasn’t overcrowded and there is no admission fee.
