The Bedouin is one of the crown jewels of Cambridge's well-known Mill Road. Not only does it pride itself on authentic and inspired North African cuisine, but also in its warm and attentive customer service. There is an array of food choices for anybody's palate, with culinary delicacies from Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia. I really recommend the chicken bastilla, fish of the day, meatball tagine, and lentils for vegetarians. The decor and the ambience of the restaurant is fantastic. When we stepped through the door, we were automatically transported to the Sahara, enjoying dinner and hospitality beneath an authentic Bedouin tent. Even though we were a large party, they accommodated us with ease. We're really looking forward to our next visit, and couldn't rate the Bedouin high enough. If you're looking for a taste of North African fare, the Bedouin is the place to go.

We had a fantastic meal yesterday. My partner had the best lamb cutlets he has ever had and I had one of the nicest starters ever! All four of us had three great courses and there was plenty of choice for my vegetarian friend. The staff were great and the decor and atmosphere all adds to the occasion. Can definitely recommend and will visit again.

Went for a weekend break in Cambridge and walked past this amazing looking restaurant with South African cuisine, so we booked a table. What a great place! Really friendly helpful staff, great food and great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend . When we're next in Cambridge, we'll definitely be going back Seats we're a little low but didn't spoil our evening.

A group of friends and I went here last Saturday night. While ordering our wine the waiter noticed some of us where from South Africa and said the wine we chose was not one we would like and suggested a gorgeous white wine instead. My mum ordered the lamb chops and could not finish it so asked for a doggy bag they gave her extra potatoes and veg with it so she had a full meal the next day. A truly gorgeous restaurant with fabulous service and by far one of my favourite places to eat out in.

My husband found this jewel on trip advisor. He emailed and explained that i was a coeliac and another member of our party was a vegetarian, we were both catered for. Main course did take a little while to come ( restaurant was busy) my oh my the food was well worth the wait.

The BEST food I've tried in a while! Went here on our visit to Cambridge and my partner as I have never tried north African food before. We only got two mains and hummus as a side as we weren't too hungry but the food was just fantastic and their portions were big. Although it's been a few weeks since my visit, I still dream about the food! I would go back in a heartbeat if ever in Cambridge again.

I arrived just before 3pm when the kitchen was closing. However I was warmly welcomed in and seated. The food; lamb tagine was incredible as was the ginger spiced cocktail (no alcohol served here). The owner was chatty and welcoming despite end of service and waiting to clear down. I guarantee this place is worth a visit! Can't wait to return with the rest of the family!

The food is incredible. Service was a little slow but to be expected as it was very busy. Definitely recommend booking ahead to avoid disappointment. We didn’t book and ended up waiting an hour, on a Wednesday evening. It is alcohol free but the alcohol free cocktails were amazing and there was an extensive drink selection.

Visited Cambridge this weekend, pre booked Bedouin, really liked the look of the menu! It didn’t disappoint! We had the sharing starter, which was delicious! Then I had the fish tagine, my partner had the lamb tagine, both with cous cous! We also ordered chips (which weren’t the best) and olives, we quickly realised we didn’t need that much food! Very filling and delicious!

Spectacular food, lovely service, a wide variety of dishes to choose from and a warm and welcoming atmosphere, not to mention it was incredibly reasonably priced. This place slaps. The chicken bastillas were truly delicious - a, to me, novel take on sweet and savoury that hit just right. I could have eaten an ungodly amount of them, were I not already sated by all the other rich and flavourful dishes. Will definitely aim to come back next time I'm in Cambridge!

What an authentic experience from the point we entered into the restaurant till we left. It's an Algerian restaurant located on the Mill road. What makes it unique is its interior and food. Ceiling is covered with tribal clothes, wall is decorated with painting of camels and Arabic culture. They got a wide variety of foods from starter till dessert. The most popular and delicious main dish is Lamb meatballs. Note: They don't serve any alcohol and don't allow consumption inside. Overall it's a great restaurant. The only negative point is that it's a bit congested. All tables are quite close to each other.

A fun atmosphere with very good North African food. We started with a platter of dips which were fresh and flavorful. For our mains we shared a beautiful lentil stew with carrots, celery and potatoes served with a side of warm bread. Perfect. We also had chicken with homemade tahini and green beans. The seasame flavors burst through. A terrific dish. The final main we shared was a beautiful lamb shank tagine with couscous, carrots, potatoes and chickpeas. Perfect. The drinks, especially the sour cherry soda was spot on. Highly recommended.

Was really intrigued by how many people dine here in the evenings, decided to try this place out. Was instantly greeted by a pleasant young waiter who offered us a table, and a plate of delicious (although quite spicy) pickled veggies. The atmosphere of the place is exquisite, with ornaments, and authentic safari rifles hanging on the walls. Music is stylish, rustic, with a little bit of everything. Food tastes like home I never knew I had. I've been to three restaurants so far in Cambridge. By far, this one deserves all the reviews it gets!
