Great food, Sunday roasts the best for miles around. Well worth a visit if you’re in Calstock
Amazing family owned pub! I stopped by with the family after a long day at Cotehele. The owners were very hospitable and the food was amazing! Best scallops I’ve ever had in the world! They were very sweet to my children as well. The next time I’m through I will make it a point to stop here.
Love this pub in Calstock. Has a proper snug full of newspapers and books. Sunday roast is good and typically huge. Range of beer is good although another draft bitter would be ideal. Maybe the pub had been drunk dry the night before at St. Patrick's evening. The floor was grass!! It was laid for 🍀 apparently. Really friendly land lady who supplied us with chess sets.
Firstly this is a proper family run pub, the minute you walk in you'll feel that family closeness and will be treated as part of the family. The owners are friendly and chatty, the sons hard working and very much on the ball with everything. There was something rather special about this place, can't fully put my finger on it but I'm sure you'll feel the same.
Highly recommend booking tables as many customers sadly got turned away due to how busy the food was. The quality and taste was amazing, the beef melted in the mouth and the lemon homemade cheesecake was gorgeous.
I personally feel the owners could be making more money from the food side of things, maybe re-looking at space or noticing 2 people took a table for 4, or trying their very hardest to not turn away potential customers in todays climate, even if this means asking those who haven't booked to eat within a set time surly this would be better than making them go back out in the pouring rain hungry and miserable.
Highly recommended but do call and book first.
I have been staying in Calstock over the summer and had the absolute pleasure of dining multiple times at the Boot Inn since I arrived. Calstock is a small village in Cornwall, but the food and service at the Boot Inn are exceptional and better than most restaurants I went to in London before coming to Cornwall. The Sunday Roast, all fish dishes, Ribeye Steak, and desserts are outstanding. The staff is great and welcoming, and they are dog-friendly. I've had guests from Canada and Austria visit me, and they all agree that the Boot Inn is top-notch.
We went to this lovely pub last week for Sunday lunch and we have to say we where blown away it was fabulous and we will definitely let people. Know about the Sunday lunch not tried the evening menu but looked and again looks very nice indeed. Would highly recommend as we tried to have lunch today but was fully booked. We will definitely be back and must remember to book. The day was not lost as good music in Calstock.
Absolutely amazing. Staff were great and the food was delicious. 100% recommend for an authentic pub
Update.. Back again and once again everything was amazing. Food and staff are awesome. Definitely recommend
Reasonable price, lovely Sunday hot roast, excellent service. Plenty of food
Tasty food in a lovely old pub. One of the nicest meals on our week's holiday in the area.
Thankyou for an amazing roast dinner that you kindly did for us today the food is amazing we all really enjoyed the hospitality you showed us it was much appreciated thankyou to you all we very much look forward to coming back.
Fantastic food, haven't had such a good meal out in a long time won't be long before we go back lovely service by kim and Shaun, highly recommended
Thoroughly enjoyed my brief stop at the Boot yesterday (Sun 10th). 2 very pleasant hours. Great Beer, good conversation, and despite GWR doing their best to ruin my day by cancelling ALL the trains back I managed to get transport into Plymouth in time for the train to London. Many thanks for the hospitality - hope to see you again soon.
Unique little pub, from times gone by! Best Sunday Roast ever, great banter with the Landlady, well recommended. Make sure you book!!
Brilliant place , good food , nice staff & lovely building
Highly recommend fantastic roast dinner best roast dinner we have had very pleasant staff
A proper pub! Popped in for dinner with on holiday. Fantastic home cooked food, lovely staff and friendly locals.
Amazing little pub. Recommend it for sure. Sunday roast was lovely.
What can I say, first time here, 4 of us came for Sunday lunch, beef and pork. Plenty of crackling with the pork, loads of meat and veg. It's not often you leave full up, but we did. Only the ladies managed dessert tho! Will be coming back again. Great food and welcoming staff.
Great local pub, we went here and it was empty, smokey, and to be honest, it looked awful and unloved. However the landlord was friendly and as the afternoon went on, the pub filled to bursting with some traditional singers turning up making the afternoon great. Pubs should be original.
