Lovely pub. Mate a mate for a pint and subsequently some chips and snacks. Lovely pub and atmosphere. Staff were great!
Excellent quick food within reach of stunning countryside, good selection of beers (tiny rebel especially excellent) and possibly the best fish and chips I've had locally!
Excellent Sunday roast. Came here for Dads birthday lunch and had a lovely time. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and tasty food. Good menu choices and quick service in a relaxed and traditional setting. Ample parking and outdoor seating. Popular with walkers and dog friendly. Will definitely be back again
We had dinner here on a Monday evening and it was fabulous. From outside, the pub looks gorgeous with all the Christmas lights and inside was just as lovely
Tables are nicely set apart and the welcome is friendly. The food was fantastic, especially the coffee panna cotta...the best I've ever had!

I turned up on a weekday evening without having booked but food was still being served. The girls behind the bar were lovely, service with a friendly smile and attitude. The beer was great and the sticky toffee pudding is a must have! Sat in the garden and overall a lovely vibe
Took my aunt for Sunday lunch for her 83rd birthday. Lovely place, it has an old time but airy feel. They don't try pack in too many tables, as some places do, so gives a very relaxed and comfortable feeling.
The staff were very friendly but seemed a little run off their feet. Food was good, everyone liked what they got, kids loved their food too, (not always a given).
All in all, it was a very nice afternoon, we will return.
Had a fab lunch! The dining area inside is lovely, great atmosphere. The staff were all super attentive and friendly. The food & drinks were served quickly, food was great - love that there is a little lunch menu with the option of light bites. The 3 of us actually sat for ages chatting after our meal (oops!) BUT no one made us feel pressured to leave or tried to rush us out. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t on our side but we could see the fab beer garden outside so we will definitely be back to enjoy this! Lovely pub :)
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent in fact the best I have had in the last 5 years. There is a good variety of drinks all at great prices. My friends and family will definitely be back very soon. Andy
My friend and I were greeted with a smile, which was nice. Throughout our meal the service was great and well timed. The food was lovely, especially the lemon meringue dome with ginger ice cream and all gluten free.....we will be having that again!!!!
Couldn’t do more for us. Very enjoyable experience. Great choice of drinks and friendly staff. Food was great. Notes from our party. Salmon was a little below par and courgettes ‘which I love’ aren’t a normal addition to a roast. Other than that a lovely lovely meal!!!
Good food and service great. I had king prawn and chorizo tagliatelle- this did not disappoint.very tasty .My friend had ham, eggs and chips. A very generous portion of ham and perfectly cooked eggs.
Great place for lunch. Enjoyed my main meal here. The pudding was good but I think it good be improved for home made puddings overall very nice I would return for sure, staff was nice as well.

Local pub for us. Set opposite Bowood estate. Lovely old village pub. Quiet with friendly attentive staff. The food is pretty good. Well worth a visit.
We arrived early for our lunch booking but is was no problem at all. We were greeted with big smiles and a warm welcome and shown to our table. The service was fantastic - We were helped with any questions regarding our food and drink with friendliness and warmth. We ordered a roast chicken and a roast belly pork and were not disappointed! It was the best Sunday roast out we've ever had with plenty of meat, veggies and roasties cooked perfectly. We had intended to have a pudding before we ate our main meal but we didn't have room and quite honestly we didn't want the taste from the roast to go!
We will definitely go back now we've found this gem.
