We had a nostalgic visit back here for our 14th wedding Anniversary. We still remember our fantastic day here at Roman Camp for our wedding which was the most beautiful day. The staff are still as attentive and friendly and the place has t changed a bit which I was so happy about. The open fires and candles add to the ambiance. I can’t recommend it enough, wonderful, beautiful stunning place.

5star + all round! A fantastic dining experience awaited us within this amazing pink building with its turreted roof line and heavy wooden entrance doors, not to mention open log fires!Steeped in history and dating back several hundred years this hotel should be on everyone’s “must do” list! A hidden gem located in central Scotland with wonderful staff (and owners) who looked after us from start to finish on our short break - thank you Roman Camp!

Stayed as an itison purchase. Will certainly be booking to come back again. It's a stunning hotel, with beautiful grounds especially in the sunshine. Only had a lounge meal in the evening as we had eaten during the day and we had afternoon tea the day of check out. Both were outstanding and the staff were attentive, very mannerly and service was impeccable. Only downfall was I wasn't a huge fan of the room decor however I would stay in another.

My daughter and new son in law were married here on 21st May and couldn't have asked for anything more. From our arrival and prompt room allocation, to the wedding ceremony through to the meal, all was absolute perfection. The owners and staff couldn't do enough for us and their total professionalism and personal touches, made this a fairytale day for us all. We had 11 Sicilians over for the wedding and they were just knocked out by the location and delicious food. Thank you all for making this day so special for Laura and Mark. We will have no hesitation in recommending you.

Came today for afternoon tea, we called this morning to say I was vegan and gluten free and the food I was served was out of this world. Thank you so much for putting the effort into an amazing afternoon out for us!

We stopped in on the off chance for afternoon tea, what a superb location, you would never know exactly how near the town this place is. The freshly baked scones were warm, the jam and clotted cream excellent, the tea perfect! Many thanks to the excellent staff too!

Really attentive and friendly staff. Excellently prepared and presented food. Free from background music allowing you to hear the birds and the river. A peaceful haven just off Callendar's Main Street. A return visit an absolute must.

On the 2nd of August 2017 after 14 months of waiting, Kim and I finally got married here. We had booked exclusive use of the hotel and the grounds from 3pm on Tuesday until 11am on Thursday, it was great having all that space to yourself along with your friends and family. I won't go into detail about our wedding but I will say that it was magical, the staff were so amazing, friendly and became part of our wedding. The food was incredible and everyone loved the courses. After the meals we used all sitting areas around the hotel and grounds to relax and get to know each other's family and share some stories. It truly felt very relaxed, cosy and chilled out. I would HIGHLY recommend having your wedding here, I urge couples to pay The Roman Camp Hotel a visit and seriously consider the location as a wedding venue, you won't be disappointed! On behalf of my WIFE and I we would like to thank the staff and everyone who attended for making our wedding so special and perfect! Thank you, much love from Mr and Mrs McKenna x

Outstanding food in a relaxed, comfortable setting. Located within the tranquil grounds of the hotel. Just a short walk from the River Teith, it's the perfect spot for a post-dinner stroll. Delight your friends & family with a visit to Roman Camp Bistro - I'm happy I did 😋

Full marks here - well, 4 stars as I never give 5 (we can all improve after all). Friendly staff, good choice of drinks and food, good cooking which was very tasty and all for a reasonable price. If in Callander pop in; you won't be disappointed, but remember, if you're going for dinner, book in advance!

We just had coffee and cake so cannot comment on the menu.Lovely place with an old charm and warm.Coffee was nice but the cup was a bit small for the price. The carrot cake was delicious and a good price.Service was good.It was quiet when we were there late afternoon.Decor old worldly and outside seating would be gorgeous in the summer.

Thoroughly recommended, driven past so often so finally went in - very pleasantly surprised. Nice glass of wine and I had a confit duck with lightly sliced lentils - delicious.

Food was lovely but asked for no dressing/mayo/relish and got a dressed salad. This was replaced with an undressed one. Then ordered scones with hot drinks, drinks arrived but scones did not arrive until we had finished drinks (think they were making them) I then got charged for another coffee to drink with my scone. It was a cold day and the room and seats were chilly - maybe offer blankets to sit on/ wrap round legs.

This is a delightfully secluded gem of "shabby chic" in a tranquil setting not far from the river. The decor is consistent with its history as a potting shed, but the food and drink are good and reasonably priced. There is both internal and external seating (under an awning) and it is "far from the madding crowd". A little quirky, but worth the experience if you appreciate calm and civilised surroundings.
