Without a doubt one the best Wetherspoons I've visited, it's always good to have a decent spoons locally. The food is generally quite consistent in terms of portion size and quality, however during busy periods standards do tend to dip.
I've only ever had to send food back on a handful of occasions as it was lukewarm, the portion size was on the small side or it was missing a key ingredient. The staff here are superb and genuinely friendly, the only issue being at certain times of day or on specific days you will struggle to find a table.
Service is quick for drinks and for food the majority of the time, but you will experience longer than normal waits during busy periods. This is down to the fact that it's a very well visited place in Caerphilly and value for money, though like everywhere else prices have crept up a fair bit multiple times.
I'm an American now living in Wales and rarely find American mustard in restaurants. That was not the case at The Malcom Uphill and it topped off a wonderful and juicy cheese burger!!!
The place was packed yet we still received our meal within 15 minutes of ordering. Waiters and bar staff were excellent. We will definitely be back.
I had breakfast with my teen daughter on a very busy Friday morning. It was bank holiday weekend, and there seemed to be a few parties arriving before they headed off for the weekend away. Even though it was very busy. The service was good and very fast. The food was good but not great. We will return but may be on a quiet day. All that said, the team did a great job on what seemed to be an unusually busy morning.
Nice Clean venue, spacious & plenty of guidance & guidelines in place and clearly visible. Friendly and informative staff who knew their products. Good range of food and drink available at really reasonable prices. 1 or 2 idiotic boys on there but staff dealt with them quickly , nice vibe and relaxed atmosphere.
Great service and food was really nice and fresh and tasted delicious. We ordered using the app and we didn't have to wait long at all
Wonderful venue for lunch and afternoon drinks. Great atmosphere during the day, changes somewhat after six at night. Food selection is excellent, plenty of beers both on tap and by the bottle. Cocktails available, also reasonably priced.
Usual Weatherspoons as they come. Food was served very fast as we ordered at the table. Tables sticky as usual in Weatherspoons, toilets are clean and upstairs. Quite busy in here for a Monday afternoon so must be popular.
Great . Last Saturday it was busy in here , not had a spoons breakfast in along time and forgot how good it is. Service was dead quick smiling faces.
It was unbelievable packed and noisy as everyone was talking probably very loud. Nice thing is that, we could still be served food although we got there after 21h00 when we crabed from other three restaurants who were no longer serving food after 20h00 and some hosted parties and not catering for walk-ins on that day.
They serve good until 23h00 and prices very reasonable with free drinks with a meal.
Fully recommend their customer service and the venue is accessible with plenty of free parking on the street.
Food was tasty and took about 10 minutes to be prepared, although one meal was not as desirable warm on arrival but enjoyable.
Designated smoking area with under cover and half bit outside. Variety of drinks are served ranging from hot, soft, alcoholic etc.
Love popping up to spoons for food with my friends, it's cheap, well cooked, big portions and tasty. Staff are friendly and can't recommend Malcom uphill weather spoons enough 👍
Good prompt beer, v quick service.
Great choices, toilets nice and clean.
Keep up the great work lads 👍
Staff very friendly, great atmosphere, fab food reasonably priced
Busy place awaiting the arrival of the tour de Britain
It's what you would expect from Wetherspoons, some of the furniture has seen better days but tables are cleared constantly and the staff are friendly and attentive.
very busy pub not that big for a weatherspoons but dose have a TV which is unusual. full of very friendly locals.
Typical wetherspoons. Food lovely and cheap, the ale is lovely and very cheap. 2 meals and 2 pints for around £18. Service very fast nothing to fault it with. The place was clean and a lot of room
