We stayed in a gorgeous room with beautiful historic styling that also had all of the modern amenities and conveniences you would expect from a 4 star hotel. We did not expect it to be so lovely here which blew us away.
All of the staff were fantastic, all incredibly friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Ruth who was our waitress for our evening meal and made us feel incredible welcome and couldn’t have given better service than she did. The food was perfect as well, which sealed the deal on a perfect experience.
Brilliant restaurant with amazing food and great staff. Service was prompt and the portions were massive.
Once ordered, food was at our table in 10 minutes which was good as it was quite busy.
I will definitely be going again.
Didn't stay the night but had dinner at the pub twice during our stay in Caernarfon. Odd experience as the first time we ate there the food was superb, but the second time it was only OK. I had mac and cheese both nights - one night it was browned nicely and crispy on top, the second night it seemed undercooked. My partner had a veggie burger one night and didn't think it was very good, but another night had the mussels and said they were great.
That being said, it's good value for money, the service was very good both nights and the place is lovely- nice seating area at the front of the pub, decent beer garden, lovely old cosy section of the pub and a newer restaurant, so you can really choose what vibe you fancy
Went here today (1.08.23) and my family had 5 separate meals which were all delicious. Really impressed with the amount of food on offer, on the menu. Ate outside which was great, as we had a dog. Really good service, staff very friendly. Well deserves a visit. Good value for money and food was fab.
We came here for dinner as a party of 7, the food arrived timely and was delicious. The buttermilk chicken burger was a bit messy to eat, but the flavours were fantastic. Lovely decor and a great atmosphere.
Never stayed here but visited for Sunday lunch for family of four.
Have to say it is the best place I have ever been for Sunday lunch laid back atmosphere and staff that are fully connected with customers.
We all opted for the carvery and was not disappointed the quality of the food and ingredients is better than I have every tried.
Have to say the best was being served by the team they was totally professional.
Absolutely five stars+ and will return.
£57.80 in total for food and drink and the service reflect this.

We were desperate to charge our EV somewhere after the charger at my rented barn had failed. The bar staff kindly let us park in their private car park while we charged up to 100%. After a stroll around the town we had dinner and a few drinks here. Wonderful meals and friendly quick service at a good price in an interesting and historical hotel. 5 star service all around. Well done keep up the good work and Thanks for helping us out 👍🙂 Joe
5 star food. Lunch menu was excellent and great value 👌 Staff very friendly and helpful. Would recommend. Also had mussels from the starters on the main menu, huge portions and very tasty.
We had a wonderful weekend with friends staying at the hotel. We were very impressed with all the lovely staff so pleasant, hard working, all very helpful and cheery.

A thoroughly enjoyable experience at the Black Boy. Our room (21) was excellent in every respect. Large, clean and well appointed. Lovely bathroom and shower. Restaurant has a good menu plus one for kids. Great choice and delicious. Service is excellent by well trained staff. Breakfast was great and again a good choice with super service. A pass for the car park is offered.
Went for an impromptu Sunday Lunch as was on holiday. No problem getting a table, ordered at the bar and was sitting eating our yummy Sunday Lunch with 15 mins. Good selection of meats, potatoes and veg...cooked just right. Staff were lovely.
Will definitely go back when up that way again.
Great place to stay for work and holiday. Staff are second to none, always willing to go the extra mile, rooms are really clean with good facilities. The food available in both bars and restaurants is really good, and when the Sun is shining one of the tables outside is a great ace to ear and drink.
Went here for an evening meal. Great building, lots of history. Excellent service team They have an extensive menu, and the quality of food is good. Highly recommended
The food was so full of flavour and there might be a long wait but that just prepares you to fill yourself the mixed grill is great for kids if there are about three of them because they can share it this is the best pub ever!!
