Had lunch today and wow it's fantastic. Started with a mixed platter gorgeous, then meatloaf which was so light but flavoursome and salmon pasta then a trio of Panna cotta and a crema with cinnamon fruit. We really recommend this place if you want authentic Italian food and good service just can't fault it and we'll be back in July can't wait X

Our second visit to the Osteria. We started with a wonderful platter of mixed meats, cheeses with honey, a deep fried bread dish, white cabbage quiche etc. Next I had a hearty agnello Tuscan stew and my wife had a zucchini pasta dish. We both finished with lovely panda cotta and were very satisfied and full. The diners next to our table that it was their best Italian fare outside Italy, and I think the Osteria Caernarfon is pretty much up there.

It had been a long day for us as we'd travelled from Anglesey to the end of the Llyn Peninsula and early bite to eat was just what we needed before the journey back to our caravan in Rhosneigr. We decided on Italian and I phoned for a reservation as soon as we saw that Osteria was the highest rated Italian in Caernarfon. We booked for 6pm with no problem despite it being the Bank Holiday Sunday. It was a bit of a trial to find the restaurant which is in a pedestrian area very close to the castle but with the help of Google maps and a good sense if direction we made it just before 6pm. We sat outside for a couple of minutes before the waiter (proprietor?) noticed us and welcomed us in. We had the choice if ant table for two, upstairs or downstairs and we chose upstairs which is light and airy. The waiter took time to explain the menu and came to take our order after a few minutes. The wine list is extensive and there was Peroni available, much to my husband's delight. There was a list of around 10 bruschetta and we decided on a sharing platter of three different ones each for £10. A perfect starter. Then we both ordered from he specials board. I asked for lasagne, which was creamy and perfectly seasoned. My husband ordered the pasta with a creamy pepper sauce and courgettes. He was very happy with this simple pasta dish. And then we chose from panacotta, a fruit topped custard tart and a almond covered chocolate tart with cream. All served with attention and humour. Many thanks to our waiter who made the evening most enjoyable. When we left around 7.30pm there were still a couple of tables available despite this being a busy weekend so if you haven't booked I'm sure there'd be room if you crossed your fingers ;)

Fantastic little Italian restaurant. A small menu offering some more interesting choices than your standard Italian. A lot of time and effort has gone into making this place what it is. Just brilliant!

A lovely friendly restaurant, great service! The bruschetta platter was delicious, all of them are wonderful. I had the vegetarian platter which was also tasty albeit a bit heavy on the olive oil and garlic. My partner chose a special of Tuscan sausage & bean pasta, which was just cheesy fusilli with some meat. It was fine, but for the price it didn't feel very much like a special. Wouldn't stop us returning though as the rest of the food was amazing.

Fab cosy little place. Was able to squeeze us in at short notice. Thanks to Sergio, Gwilym and Daniel. So passionate about what they do. Fabulous platter and tried the coccoli for the first time (so tasty). Thanks again and we’ll be back soon.

Cute atmosphere, friendly and easy going/chatty staff and I was able to ask the cook for a vegan version of the vegetarian platter and it was lovely with beans, grilled veggies, bruschetta selection and fried bread. All in all a very lovely experience for traditional Italian food even for a vegan!

What a nice little find. Managed to book a table on the day for 7.30pm. Friendly staff, great Chef and loved the way he was doing his rounds to customers to ask what he thought of the food. I couldn't fault it and said Bellissimo. It made him laugh. Had a 3 course meal. Bruschetta Funghi, the Special Ragu Bolognese followed by the Ice Cream Truffle with coffee sauce. All were fantastic and would definitely highly recommend and can see myself going back again. Friendly atmosphere and do not feel rushed.

Beautiful and romantic Tuscan-style restaurant located in the side streets of Caernafon. We booked through emailing the restaurant who replied promptly. The staff were attentive and the owner greeted and checked on all of the guests - achievable due to the small number of tables. Selection of wines from Italy available. Limited menu but a good selection of starters (platters and bruschette) with pasta/main specials. The selection of bruschette were delicious. Large servings of pasta in which the pasta itself was not overcooked - Amatriciana was flavourful but the sauce was slightly watery and the pancetta was small, not allowing proper browning to enhance the flavour further. Ragu was also served with well cooked pasta but lacked the depth of flavour expected from a slow cooked traditional ragu. We tried both the selection of panna cotte and the afforgato - both were lovely and a good end to the meal.

Very friendly staff, nice atmosphere and delicious food. We were lucky to get a table for four without a booking but the place was very busy, when people were leaving new people were coming, so booking is recommended.

Excellent restaurant. Great experience. Food was delicious and very authentic Tuscan, taking us back to holidays in Florence. The proprieter is a wine expert and recommended a very nice bottle for us. We ended up having three courses because everything looked so good! Cosy and central location.

Truly exceptional! I have eaten all over the world in many high end restaurants, but have never seen a man care as much about his food as the chef here. That absolutely came through in the quality of the food. The whole experience was incredible. It makes me sad that it is 7hrs from where we live.

Lovely dinner the other night. Brought the warmth of Tuscany to a chilly February night. Food and atmosphere top class. Highlights were the ability to have premium wine by the glass, the fried Tuscan bread and the vin santo custard. Will definitely come again.
