Would recommend. Great pub staff brilliant and helpful, plenty of choice for alcoholic/ soft drinks and coffee. Dog friendly and has free biscuits for them. Large food menu with plentry of choice, we had a burger and sausage and mash, the meals very generous ( dog had to share). Everything very clean. Interesting old pictures on the wall.

Stopped for a coffee and a bit of a rest after walking up from Crindau. The coffee was great & good value for money. The service was quick and efficient.
Great, dog friendly pub. We ordered the starter as a light lunch. I had the Nachos and my wife had the Cheesy Chips. Both meals were lovely and well worth the price. Had chocolate orange sponge cake which was gorgeous. Shelby was friendly. Beautiful view out the window. I would definitely eat there again.
Family trip for fish and chips. Warm welcome for the 3 of us, furry baby too.
Food was fairly quick, a good size and very fresh and tasty.
This was our 2nd visit and we'll be back again for sure.

Nice food. Big portions of the Fish & Chips. I had the lovely Goat's cheese salad. Just wish they had added a piece of bread with some butter. Great outdoor location on the river. Parking next door to pub.
One of my favourite summer pubs! Such a nice location (for Newport) to sit outside and have a couple of drinks. The meals here are not expensive and you get a good amount for your money. Plenty of places to sit outside and enjoy the sun or inside during the winter. Well recommended.
From the moment we arrived we were looked after by a lovely lady she took our order it didn’t take long to arrive,we all had different meals but we could not fault one of them,also the sherry trifle cheesecake was delicious.We cannot wait to come back.

Very pleased with everything here. Gorgeously situated right on the river, decorated extremely well on the inside, nice friendly atmosphere.
We had two steaks and both were lovely. Whilst it was a particularly miserable day in terms of weather, it was still a very enjoyable sit to watch the river flow down. I wouldn’t recommend getting too close though as there is a significant smell that can waft up.
As far as staff go, everyone we dealt with was lovely.
After ordering at the bar, we went to find a nice quiet table up by the window, overlooking the river/beer garden. We originally ordered 2 mixed grills but were told that unfortunately there was only one available, to which I happily accepted the ribeye steak!
Special shout out to the team working that day. Not many staff would take the time or effort to come back up to inform me that the chef would indeed be able to make two if I wanted. Top notch customer service.
Our party of 4 adults and 2 children plus a young puppy were made to feel very welcome straight away with dog biscuits for the puppy! Great food at very reasonable prices made for a very good stopover on our way to Pembrokeshire, would highly recommend this pub.
