Interesting building originally I believe it was a hospital.
We did have food that is catered by students as part of their hospitality training cooks waiters etc
Clean and standards were high
It is worth visiting the building
No charge to go in. It's a working campus with an open public area in the centre. Try out the acoustics in the middle under the centre of the dome I was convinced it was a microphone amp and speakers but it's purely the acoustic effects! Careful what say as it can be heard a long distance away!
Went here for the 1st time for the Gin Society Festival - wow! What an impressive building. Full of history. Fantastic venue for a large event. I will definitely be going again.
Great place, great atmosphere, love the detail of the building and the food to top it all off was amazing. I attended a wedding here and by far the best venue I have been to. The staff and even the security guards were lovely people. I had a chat with some of the security guards and they even came and took some pics of the car I was travelling in.
Beautiful place to visit and the pavilion gardens are exceptional
feels a bit strange going in as the building is now a university but it's interesting to learn about it's history and change of use over the decades and the dome is huge!
It's a Victorian architectural engineering marvel, which must be seen to be appreciated. Normally it's part of Derbyshire University campus, but periodically, it's open to the public for exhibitions.
An excellent setting for large events. I attended the University of Derby graduation ceremony here, fabulous in every way...
Very interesting building nice cafe
