Love this Pub, the food is wonderful. The Staff & fellow guest always fun. Lots on the Menu to enjoy, with Pies, Dishes & Soup of the day. Covered and open area outside, clean bathrooms and dog friendly. The menu changes regularly to match the seasons & current events. Very good wine list & craft al
Spur of the moment lunch. It is cosy pub and a bit difficult to park but dont let that put you off. The food is exceptional. We ordered two sharing starters between four of us, as well as a main each. Every meal looked homemade, and tasted like it too. Dogs are also welcome here, we didn't know this
The staff the food all amazing well done the Duke staff lovely thank you for amazing time . We came up from plymouth we will call again
What a fantastic pub the food is amazing great staff
Took my mum and her friend for a birthday lunch today and hadn't realised it was Jazz lunch on a Friday. It was a really good atmosphere to be in and her friend was made to feel very special by the musicians who sang "Happy Birthday" to her! The food was lovely and the staff were very friendly and
We had lunch here today, the food was lovely. My husband said his Steak & Ale Pie was the best he has had in years. My sizzling chicken skillet was delicious too. Service good & staff friendly, recommended.
Very friendly staff and a good selection of pub classics. The roast dinner was of a good quality and size if nothing to write home about. The car park is small and rather a tight squeeze. Lots of families seemed to be in when we arrived. Which for us was a good sign.
Went with Friends for Sunday Lunch it was lovely amazing array of vegetables nice & hot loads of gravy just some confusion about having two different meats...for an extra charge. Desserts were thoroughly enjoyed. highly recommended
5 of us had a really great lunch. The home-made steak and ale pies are huge and so tasty! Friendly and helpful staff and olde world styled pub. Superb!
Felt safe during Coronavirus epidemic. Tables well spaced and one way system in place. Staff all wore masks. Food very well cooked and nicely presented. Steak was first class. Too full to try a dessert!
Just popped in for a beer on my way past. Great beer, fantastic staff, clean, pleasant atmosphere. A good place for a quiet chat. It has an extensive menu, limited parking, but plenty of on street parking near by. Definitely a place to return to.
I warmed to this place the first time I went in - dog's welcome! It turns out that this is my friends new local and they picked well - excellent food and drink and fantastic service from the landlady and team. A really lovely pub and restaurant, popular with locals and tourists, walkers and cyclists
Great little watering hole. We stopped at the Duke on an off chance on a journey across country and we're really glad we did. Entry to the car park is a little awkward and there are not many spaces but don't let this put you off. Inside, the service is warm and friendly, the decor is comfortable a
We called here for lunch after walking in the Goyt Valley . The food was good & the service was quick. The staff were very welcoming & even offered water for our dog ;0). Will definitely return .
Had an amazing Sunday lunch which includes all the trimmings such as red cabbage and cauliflower cheese. Had a nice welcome on arrival and accomadating for young children. Would highly recommend.
The website states that the pub serves food however they do not and thats the reason for reducing by 1 star, the bar lady was very polite and a nice atmosphere was created in the pub
Excellent pub, great staff. The food is very good quality and worth the money. Cosy atmosphere and best of all, dog friendly, which is a very big bonus to us
