Very pleasant place to enjoy a pot of tea and some food. The tea and fruit loaf we had were lovely and not that expensive. A very pleasant attentive young lady looked after us while we were there. A hidden gem.
Googled this place before hand due to my partner being coeliac and it did not disappoint! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. He had a sandwich and scone, which he loved. First homemade GF scone he's had in 11 years, so thank you very much for that! (I'll be expected to make them at home haha)
my husband and I were staying for a few days in Buxton. We decided to call at Upstairs at Charlotte for a brew and cake and ask directions to their chocolate shop. We decided on an almond and cherry scone and a cinnamon raisin scone and a pot of tea for two. We split the scones between us and both were delicious but we preferred the cherry scone with it's crunchy exterior and a soft light interior the almond didn't overpower the cherries. The cinnamon scone used wholemeal flour and had a denser texture and softer exterior which was also lovely, but as my husband said he tried this first and thought it was delicious until he ate the cherry scone and said it was on another level. This was washed down with a generous pot of tea for two in pleasant surroundings in a cafe with a lovely atmosphere. By the way the chocolates are luscious and too many to choose from. It's a good thing we don't live nearby we'd never be able to resist.
great place ,great service , and great pleasant staff ,
We called in late and despite that the staff were very accommodating. Coffee and scone all very good. Can't fault it.
Lovely quaint cafe with fresh, local and reasonably priced food!
