Very nice and ambient environment. We visited in a cold rainy day. The soup and the started were amazing to keep us warm. Recommend! Will visit again
Its been here now for 3 months, and we have had our first meal. It has nice clean no fuss interior and very relaxing atmosphere.
However the staff were fantastic, very polite, friendly, and attentive. The food was outstanding. I have eaten now in lots of places, and occasionally one will pop up that smacks you in the face for beautifully prepared and flavoursome food.
Its only drawback is its position. No real parking other than at the market carpark at the top of the street. But still only a 3 minutes walk from the car.
Outstanding food, I'm going back
The food here was terrific. Interesting, flavourful combinations; beautifully cooked and presented, and a very reasonable price. The staff bent over backwards to be courteous and helpful. We were honestly delighted - these guys could give some of London's finest a run for their money. An absolute highlight of Buxton!
Amazing food! Enjoyed everything we ordered. Had the veg mix starter, salt and pepper squid and chicken momo. All delicious. Can't remember the names but we ordered all Nepalese mains. 4a, e, f and h. All were amazing and would definitely come again! Told them it was my mother in law's birthday when we arrived and they gave her a card, a cake and sang happy birthday. Really thoughtful and lovely!
Had a brilliant meal, the staff were absolutely helpful in picking the meal and the level of spicynes.
The manager came over when we finished, he explained how all the ingredients are fresh. This sometimes means you wait slightly longer, but well worth it
As this was our first time, it definitely won't be our last.
Excellent Sunday banquet, huge portions! The staff were very friendly and also very helpful in explaining their Gluten Free (GF) options for me, and even did me an extra GF curry as some of the banquet options was not GF. Also, when we left the restaurant, I managed to forget my hand bag 🙄, and with in a couple of minutes they rang us on the mobile we used to make our booking, to let us know, so that we could return straight away to collect my bag. Great staff all round 😊. Looking forward to going back 😋
In my opinion the best restaurant in Buxton. Went there when it first opened a couple of years ago and still has the same fantastic service and quality. The food is really tasty, the colours and scents activate your senses to this wonderful experience which is Nepalese food. Worth trying the Nepalese beer and their poppadoms (I can be quite picky about those!).
Not had Nepalese or Tibetan food before. Beautiful fresh food, spicy so if that's not your taste select mild dishes. Good service slightly delayed due to large party upstairs but apology given for this. Would definitely return.
Fantastic! Some of the best Nepalese food you will find! The service was also great and very friendly offering us advice on the dishes to pick and tailoring them for us. Can't recommend this place enough!
We visited here on a Sunday evening. Unbeknown to us the food is all you can eat buffet on Sundays. This isn't something we'd usually go for, as from previous experiences the quality of 'all you can eat' food is never of a decent standard - not so at the Gurkha Tingmo Palace! Quite the opposite, in fact. Although the layout, setting and decor are very basic, the food more than makes up for it. Also, having a choice of Nepalese, Indian and Chinese dishes makes it quite unique when it comes to the age old 'shall we go for an Indian or a Chinese' dilema! Definitely worth trying.
Fantastic food. Flavoursome, warm and wholesome. Although spice level could have been higher! The music makes the cuisinary experience feel even more authentic. What a delightful escape from the biting winds of Buxton.
