Fab little cafe in Buttermere; we visited after a long walk and had the soup (vegetable broth) which came with a lovely warm bread roll, followed by delicious cakes and tea/coffee. The place itself was really warm and inviting, and the staff were super friendly. Would 100% recommend to anyone needing a place to eat in Buttermere!

Fabulous Tea Room with wonderfully friendly staff, and the most divine vegetarian pie I’ve ever had! I have to admit that I really wasn’t keen on the idea of a Curried Cauliflower Pie - but I was hungry and thought if I don’t like it at least I’ll have mashed potatoes to line my stomach. But I couldn’t have been more wrong - everything from presentation to taste and texture was superb! My son and daughter-in-law also enjoyed their food options too. We did eye the cakes (which looked amazing) but there was literally no room for any more food! Highly recommended and definitely worth visiting.

Delicious cake and lots of variety including gluten free options. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and knowledgeable about the cakes too. An excellent tea room.

Dog friendly is always a plus. It's tucked away so it wasn't as busy as some of the other places nearby. Great chai hot chocolate, very decadent! Really good selection of cakes too. The sandwich was okay, basic with no frills but did the job. My partner had the Yorkshire pudding with beef ends which looked amazing. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Would definitely have a stop off here again.

A very nice little hidden gem . We entered quite sharply with it raining outside to us being greated by a lovely blonde lady behind the counter who even said hello to the dog . Asked us if we were eating in and told us about the soup of the day and the extra seating upstairs . We ordered at the till from the extensive pie choices we had the meat and potato and steak and Stilton, both on mash with gravy .our daughter had the kids box which came with a ham sandwich pack of crisps milky way and a juice box . I got a hot chocolate and was not expecting the chocolate slab on top an amzing touch . All very amazing and fresh. Keep up the great work team smashed it . There was even a doggy treat for the dog . And we also got ice cream on the way out the revolving Ice cream bar was hard to resist. On my definite return I will purchase one of the various cakes on display also looked amazing and home made .

Next to valley and buttermere lake just make you go ummmm around. Really calm your sense when you sit outside this small cafe and birds chirping next to you. Can’t explain the inner peace you get here while enjoy some of the cafe pasteries and sipping coffee to warm yourself up.

The best coffee I've had in a while, and I drink lots of it. Pie and mash were fantastic, delicious flavour and texture, my partners sandwich also very good quality. All homemade and fresh. Lovely converted barn with seating upstairs and downstairs, with some leafy tables outside. Parking available on site too

Oh boy, if you like pies, then this place is a must!!! Home made, great selection of flavours, served with a choice of five different flavoured mashes and then smothered in lashings of gravy!!!! Just gorgeous I went for steak and Stilton pie, with mustard mash - in seventh heaven!! So good, that once we had walked Buttermere, popped back in to take one home for the freezer. This place has always been great, just now even better with pies!!

Been walking in the Lake District all week and the weather had been mixed. On this occasion walking anti clockwise around buttermere this welcome sight of the tea room was a blessing. Soaked my spirits were raised with the best homemade potatoe and leek soup(2 bowls) and the homemade pies, fantastic all served with a smile by the young polite staff. A big thumbs up

Loved this place, great stop off before or after the Buttermere lake walk, service was great and there were a lot of people passing through. 2 of us had latte and a gluten free cherry and almond slice from a wide selection of cakes. They also served meals, sandwiches and ice creams. Seating upstairs, downstairs and outside.

Stunning location. Food was excellent, plenty of choices for vegetarian/ vegan/ GF. We desperately needed cake after climbing up to Scale Force! Cake was top notch! 👌🏻 Staff were lovely even though it was so busy! You have to try their hand made pies! Absolutely fantastic!

Imagine a place where you can get warm after getting sooked on your hike (and you will). Warm in all aspects. Friendly service, amazing pies, great looking cakes (I went for pie), tea and of course a beautiful venue to keep you dry.

Fab cafe and tea room near Buttermere lake. Came here every day on our camping long weekend as we loved it so much. Superb coffee and breakfast (loved the look of the pies too). Great vegan/vegetarian options, everything made fresh that morning. Super friendly staff. Hopefully we will come back soon!
