This wonderful pub is under new ownership and today we had lunch with my wife and son and my niece. The food was quite outstanding and very reasonably priced. The chef is clearly very talented and has produced a menu with plenty of choice. Great atmosphere, great service, delicious food and a wonder
Absolutely first class! The waitress was friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the food was excellent! If we are ever down here again it will definitely be a stop-off!
Very nice and accommodating local pub. We came for drinks on the Friday then food on the Saturday both enjoyable experiences. All outdoor so make sure you wear something warm.
Yummy food - came here for Sunday lunch Feb 2020 for daughter’s 10th birthday. Recommend the Somerset pork - lovely Yorkshires, roasters & cabbage as well. Perfect with a pint of Bristol Brewery ale.

A gem of a pub. Fantastic service; under new ownership and brilliant food. You must support this place and visit when you get the chance. You won't be disappointed.

Service was quick and really friendly. (I have a 6 month old and they couldn't have done more for us)
The food was the best bit. I love a good roast and rose and portcullis definitely hit the mark. (The beef was awesome!)

Second visit to the Rose & Portcullis and yet again we were met by friendly staff, great drinks, and professional service. We again sat on the terrace, which is a lovely setting for a gathering.
This time we ate and the food was exquisite. Cannot fault the menu options nor the chefs abilities.

Just swung in for a quick beer on a dark 'n' rainy December evening. Warm and polite welcome at the bar and local ale on tap was tasty stuff. Would've liked to stay for dinner as menu looked impressive. Dogs welcome and locals are friendly too! A return is a must!
