Just had the tastiest fish and chips ever. The cod was lightly battered and went went with their homemade tartare sauce which by itself is delicious with bits of gherkin and dill. The chips are crispy on outside and soft on the inside - just the way I like it. I also tried their minted mushy peas and it was delicious. I like the fact that it is packaged in a cardboard box and the inclusion of the wedge of lemon is a nice touch. It was very reasonably priced for the quality of fish and chips. I highly recommend to anyone passing through Bury St Edmunds. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Great service and great food in light and bright surroundings. The staff were friendly and efficient. The triple cooked chips were awesome and the batter coating the beautifully fresh fish was light, non-greasy and super crispy. Portion sizes were just right. I made a mistake in my original review as I thought that there was a charge for ketchup - the owners have quite rightly responded to let me know that this only applies to take out orders.

I spoke with Giles to place a large order for a family gathering (funeral wake). Absolutely superb service and communication from Giles from start to finish. The food was amazing, and everyone commented on how tasty the fish was, and it was the best fish and chips they had ever had! Would throughly recommend. Thanks again

A really nice fish & chip shop. The fish was moist and the batter crops & light, chips well cooked and from real potatoes not frozen chips. Also the tartare sauce was home made and lovely. Pleasant service and sparkling clean, a really good place for lunch at a very reasonable price.

Have had lovely cod, scampi, chips and mushy peas here before, and once again the best chippy meals we've had in ages, perfectly cooked batterred halloumi and crispy squid, amazing chips and free batter bits, even brought down the hill to us where we were waiting, as the restaurant was unsurprisingly full. We ate in the nearby abbey water garden, great spot to eat great food, then a refreshing vanilla and strawberry ice cream on the way back up the hill, all less than a tenner each, highly recommend.

Wow my 1st time visiting Hendo's Fish & Chips in Bury St Edmunds I ordered the small size scampi and chips with a nice ice cold coke The young lady that served me was very polite and welcoming. The food was excellent 6 large peices of scampi and the chips were so yummy. You can either sit in doors or outside the preference is yours oh and ice-cream didn't try it but seeing a continued line of customers I would say cannot be bad I will definitely try next time I'm in town. Last but not least must mention the chef excellent customer service with a smile and chat while paying my bill I recommend Hendo's if you are looking for great food and excellent customer service you will not be disappointed ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹
