The food here was really lovely. It was the best beef rib I’ve ever had! The staff were attentive and friendly
For dinner, the ambience could have been better- maybe with little battery powered lamps on each table or some lamps around the room?
Otherwise a fab little dinner spot!
Absolutely delicious Sunday roast, I went for the Sunday lunch and cult classic cinema offer £30 for 2 courses and the film at the Abbeygate. The dinner was wonderful, beef with yorkshire pudding, potatoes, cauliflower cheese, asparagus, tenderstem broccoli, red cabbage, roasted carrot & parsnip, fa
Had a baby shower upstairs here along with afternoon tea. It was amazing! Everyone commented how lovely the food was, particularly the rolls and lemon cake. The staff were so helpful and friendly. Such a brilliant venue to have for an event.
Absolutely amazing place, great atmosphere, and the food was more than outstanding.
I had the beef which was amazing and melted in my mouth. So tasty and full of flavours.
Highly recommended
Experienced the food 4 film...Pulp Fiction. This event was amazing. The food was fabulous and the courses tied into the movie beautifully. The adrenaline shot was inspired. A huge congratulation to Matt and his team. Looking forward to the next one. Get in quick I think these events are gonna fly...
Family brunch today was absolutely fabulous. Beautifully presented, huge portions freshly cooked to order. Best mocha I’ve had in years. Excellent service from the Abbeygate team. Couldn’t fault in any way. A gem.
Lovely ambiance. Great food with a different menu to the norm. I had Mongolian Tofu - it was delicious. The puddings were yummy.
A Lovely restaurant tucked away inside the Abbeygate Cinema building in Hatter Street. We had booked a table for 12 for a family celebration , the service was excellent, food arrived promptly and was delicious as well as very good value for money. The staff were all very pleasant and friendly. High
Our first time eating here and it was a large group for the size of the establishment. The food was first class with the nicest steak I have had in a while, cooked perfectly (medium rare) and served with an attractive selection of vegetables. This was only eclipsed by the dessert. A home made ginger
It was a lovely place to have lunch. The atmosphere was nice , the staff were friendly and made u feel very welcome. The service was fast , not having to wait long for our order to arrive which was very good . It was off the main road but was a hidden gem , well worth finding . Would certainly visi
Returned today for a bite to eat after 18 months of not being able to come. The menu has been updated, its still one of our favourites. Highly recommended, the cuban rolls were packed full of delicious food. Thank you.
Wonderful little restaurant, great food and attentive staff. I would highly recommend and will definitely be going back. The added bonus is the independent Abbeygate cinema within the building which I also highly recommend with it reclining seats and sofas 😊
Lovely place, eaten here a number of times. Cakes are amazing and all made in house, which is a great USP... The carrot cake is best I've eaten for a very long time - highly recommend. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere.
Okay food. Brioche bun with the burger felt super greasey. Have to order chips/fries separately. It wasn't a bad night, the menu also had not a lot of it available when we last went so that was disappointing, but we were in good company.
Always enjoy eating in the restaurant. They serve some wonderful rice bowls which I always have. It is great before or after the cinema or just for a meal. The staff are friendly and good Covid safety.
My favorite restaurants in bury st edmunds. The place has a superb chilled out happy atmosphere.the food is always superb (best dirty fries around) the staff are always welcoming and brilliant at their jobs :) 5 ⭐
