Ben's - Bury St Edmunds - Photo album

The staff were wonderful at this restaurant, but the food unfortunately wasn't. We went specifically for the Sunday roasts. It's a real shame they offer no vegetarian roast option, just a risotto. The roast potatoes weren't crispy, which the menu boasts! The pork was flavourless and there was one ti
Fab place. Food excellent. Compliments to the chef for all round efficiency and tasty fayre. He cooked everything from scratch virtually single handedly in full view of the guests! Fish and chip special night ...batter so light it nearly floated...delicious fish. Staff so friendly and obliging. In a
Absolutely fantastic place to visit. Excellent food. We first stumbled across this place after a trip to the cinema. It was the last evening of their special pie event. Those were the best pies we ever tasted! We've also been back for the usual menu, the Sunday lunch and the Afternoon Tea, all of wh
Really enjoyable food. Not cheap but you really get your money's worth. I had a wood pigeon Kiev which is one of the best starters I can remember enjoying for a while. Main was a pork belly dish which was generous with the meat, cooked till it was perfectly tender. Most others on the table got beef
Ben's prides itself on the quality of its meat and we weren't disappointed. I had lamb for my main course and the meat was very flavoursome. The food overall, though, falls short of perfection on the smaller details: the potato dauphinoise style had a very chewy baked top for example. But we had a v
Great seasonal menu. We both enjoyed every course and was one of the best meals we have had in the UK. The quality of the food is excellent and locally sourced but yet all very reasonably priced. Staff are wonderful and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Top of our list for restaurants in Bury/Cambri
Exquisite! I have eaten in some of the country's best and most prestigious restaurants in my time and can honestly say that tonight's meal at Ben's was delicious. Not only was the food first class but so was the service. The menu provided a good range of choice. I look forward to going back again so
Food and service were smashing. They try to source ingredients locally, which is always a plus. Decor is simple but adequate. The Rabbit Tagliatelle, wow...if you get a chance, try it. I am not usually a game eater, as it tends to be too strong for me, but this was spot on. I will be going back.
My wife took me here to celebrate my promotion and the food and service were great! I would definitely come back here again! However I wish they would get some new knives. I could cut my food better with my knuckles than their knife. Please Ben's.
Ben's is a farm to table kind of place. This makes me happy knowing where my food came from and that is is locally sourced. It was a pleasant surprise to see Ben the restaurant owner working the floor. The food was fantastic. For starter we had mussels. They were baked with a cheese on them and a ga
Fabulous food. The pasta was spot on. With an excellent inexpensive red wine. Had a gorgeous pudding too. Service couldn't have been better. Just great couldn't fault it !
Excellent place to eat. I chose a kebab to start, pulled lamb suet pudding, chocolate orange Cheesecake and coffee. All absolutely delicious. Excellent service too. All made a pleasant evening out.
Lovely place, lovely food. The only down side was their apparent Inability to divide the cost of a bottle of wine between 3 people when paying the bill. Otherwise well worth a going!
The food here is pretty good. But very expensive - very fancy if that's what you're looking for. Not value for money - we thought the Bear Inn in Beyton was a good comparable as the pricing is similar, except the food at the Bear is just exceptional.
I thoroughly enjoyed my meal at Bens last night. Generous helpings of marinated pork and a delicious cherry and almond frangipani. The staff were so lovely and helpful. All together it was a wonderful evening
Beautiful food, decent portion size but didn't feel like it was too much. Staff were attentive at the right times without being in the way.
