We stumbled upon Francela while out celebrating my 60th birthday, and what a fantastic find it was! The special offer of 30% off a starter and main course caught our attention, and we were warmly greeted upon arrival.
The menu offered a lovely variety of starters and mains, and the food we enjoyed was absolutely delicious, with generous portion sizes for the price. The only downside was the drinks were a bit pricey, with a 500ml beer costing £7.95.
The service was outstanding; they even noticed it was my birthday and surprised me with a complimentary ice cream and candle. We couldn't finish all our meals, so they kindly provided us with a doggy bag to take home. To top it off, we were treated to complimentary liqueurs with the bill and given a lovely bottle of wine to take away!
Francela is a charming family-run restaurant with a great selection of dishes and exceptional service. I highly recommend this place for a memorable dining experience!
Had the most amazing meal with a large group of friends here. We had a very warm welcome, and there's a great choice on the menu. Our food came really quickly. All our food was absolutely delicious, and portion sizes were great. Service all evening was fantastic, and I would definitely recommend having a meal here. Definitely will be back next time I'm in the area.
Really lovely friendly place. Went for a birthday meal, first time there. Food was delicious all round. Had our 2 &4 year old with us, waiters very attentive and friendly and a birthday bottle.
My only advice would be to serve more bread with the dips (we asked for more, it was very good bread!)

Stopped in for a family lunch. Very friendly attentive staff and the food was delicious and well presented. Calamari was perfectly cooked, and it would have been good to have more than three rings in the portion as we were sharing the starters. The grilled meats were juicy and tender and full of flavour. We really liked the Guvec on the lunch menu. The meals are good but not worth the price tag. The two course menu is better value for money but has restricted options. Can't fault the service though, we felt well looked after!
What a great meal!!! Booking online was easy and convenient. We were greeted at the door and everything was great from beginning to end. We had starters-filo pastry rolls, tzatziki, shakshuka, and calamari. All delicious. For dinner we had a Mixed Grill, Pollo Al Pesto, and Pollo Al Pepe. It was all well cooked and presented beautifully. It tasted just as good. Desert put us all over the top. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back.

We visited a Tuesday lunchtime, so it was a little quiet, but the 2 gentlemen serving us were so welcoming and friendly it didn't really matter. The food was scrummy and having the 2 course offer we left feeling very satisfied. We will definitely be returning.
We visited restaurant few weeks ago. The food is very tasty we enjoyed every little bit which we ordered. Staff is very welcoming. We were served by Erbil (apologies if spelled it wrong) who was extremely helpful, friendly and made us feel very comfortable. We will be definitely coming back once we will be passing Bury St Edmunds. Thank you for a great experience!
This restaurant is possibly one of the friendliest I’ve ever been to. The owner and staff make you feel welcome as soon as you enter the restaurant. The food arrives piping hot and plenty of it They even presented my father with a bottle of wine as he was celebrating his birthday!
This place was a great experience all around. The service was fast. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. They were very accommodating to working a vegan option not specifically on the menu. The food itelf was well flavored and well presented
