Great:
The food was outstanding, the entire restaurant looked clean and tidy and we had a great time together for my mom's birthday.
Improve:
Our server Laura seemed to be a little overwhelmed, I was waiting for a very very long time to pay the bill because she gave us the receipt and then vanished for about thirty minutes and didn't come back, until she finally did and was a little short with me when I had a question about an item on the receipt.
The lamb and roasters were a little too chewy but that can't be helped.
Otherwise our experience was wonderful and we will be returning again.
Love the food here, I had Turkey and Beef roast meat today. Plenty of lovely vegetable choices. The service was particularly good from Katie and Ross. Thank you for a great experience today. See you again soon!
This Carvery is lovely, all the staff have always been so helpful, the food is spot on also. Today we were served my Sophie who has always been great and Justin was the carver and does a great job at it also. Highly recommend.
I don't live in Burton but always make a point of going especially going to Burton because everything about it is excellent. 8 of us went and were really well looked after. Reasonable price and excellent food. Thank you for making it a great night. Sorry it has taken me so long to leave the review. We went 21st Sept.
Our service today was excellent. The carvery was lovely with the chefs always refreshing the vegetables, Nicky plated the meat up and we had a little chat which was nice! Sophie was lovely - couldn't have done more for us, she was very attentive!
We usually use Toby carvery as a quick no fills meal that is average. Today the variety of food and the quality was excellent. We were impressed, like they had upped the game. Well worth the money. Hope they keep it up.
Stopped for lunch and had a 2 course meal on Friday. Fantastic price for the quality of food we received and the service was brilliant. Will return when we’re out again for a spot of lunch. Thank you
Absolutely beautiful!! The meat was moist and tender, carved to perfection by Ross, who was lovely. The vegetables was hot and fresh. I especially liked the dauphinoise potatoes. The roast potatoes was also nice.
Our waitress was Laura who was very friendly and lovely. Very good service and gorgeous food! Even may fussy kids enjoyed it. Thank you, we’ll be back again!
Food was absolutely wonderful, great choice of meats and friendly staff.
Might be an unpopular opinion, but I would have Tobys mac and cheese on my Sunday dinner any day!
Just a little on the pricey side.
Had an amazing meal at Toby Carvery the other day. Abi and the team were very helpful and were always on hand to make sure everything was perfect with our meal. 100% will return and will recommend to family and friends.
Our stop at Toby Carvery Burton during our journey back from a family day out left us with a mostly positive impression. The location offers limited parking, which can be a bit tight on busier days like the bank holiday Monday we visited. Fortunately, it's free, so under normal circumstances, parking shouldn't be a major issue.
The restaurant itself is relatively new, which adds a touch of modernity not typically associated with carveries. The ambiance was quite pleasant.
However, our experience with service left something to be desired. With only one person actively serving while others appeared to be engaged in conversation, service was slow and occasionally frustrating. We hope this was an isolated incident.
On the plus side, the food lived up to expectations. It was good, fresh, and served hot, which is exactly what one would hope for at a carvery. Additionally, the self-serve drink machine offered a wide variety of options, both still and fizzy, which was appreciated by all in our group.
In conclusion, our visit to Toby Carvery Burton was a generally pleasant experience. While the limited parking and service hiccup were minor drawbacks, the quality of the food and the modern ambiance made up for it. We left satisfied, albeit needing a brief sofa nap before continuing our journey home.
We booked for Sunday dinner for my family of 6 and met family there for dinner. They catered for us all, sat us on tables next to each other and we're really helpful and friendly with my child who has sensory issues regarding food, they allowed him to have just nuggets and a few Yorkshire puddings and didn't charge me too much either, portions are great and the quality and variety of meat are well worth the extra few pounds and travel distance from our local pub.
Would highly recommend. Lots of free parking but always book in advance they are so busy on Sundays and it's easy to see why. Brilliant 👌
My husband and I love this Toby so much we have lunch there at least three times a week.
Good food. Excellent value for money. Friendly and attentive staff. What's not to like?
A small Toby in comparison to others so was very crammed on a busy Sunday afternoon.
Good food though and relatively new looking.
Toilets are individual cubicle rooms and the one I went in was filthy and the toilet seat thrown on the floor.
Visited the UK from Greece and decided to try a buffet style restaurant, as they're pretty famous back there. The food was indeed very good, a wide selection to choose from. Service was sweet and professional and overall an adequate experience, would recommend.
As I've mentioned in previous surveys, my wife and I have lunch at this Toby at least three times a week. Whoever is on duty when we visit, always greet us very warmly. We regard this Toby as our second home and the staff as part of our family.
Just one small issue. Most of the time, the mashed potatoes are just right. Today though, they weren't as moist as they usually are. Although, nothing that a good dose of the deliciously thick gravy couldn't put right. Not a big issue, but if I don't say, you wouldn't know.
This is an addendum to this review. We visited this Toby again the day following this review, and I wanted to mention something that I forgot to mention yesterday. We had finished our meal and had paid. To our pleasant surprise, Abi and Katie presented us with a £50 voucher. Because of my review, my name was entered into a draw for a voucher. So, all you Toby Carvery lovers out there, get writing a review. You may win one. One thing's for sure, if you don't write one, you've no chance of winning.
Great place to eat, lovely staff. Sophie, Skye, Charlotte and Abi were great. Nicki was very friendly at the deck. Would come back everyday of the week if I could. Also, I'd recommend the pigs in blankets.
Laura T our server was excellent. We had 2 children with us and asked for teaspoons to help them eat their peas, she was more than happy to accommodate. She also helped me to calm my youngest daughter down when she banged her head on the table, and the service was excellent. Thank you Laura!
