Really nice hotel in an old Manor house. A lot of character, a lovely garden. Rooms were small but had everything we needed. We had dinner and breakfast here and our waiter was the friendly and charismatic Jose. He really made us feel at home and had a great sense of humour. A lovely experience.

Lovely old building. Staff cheery, helpful & efficient. Great food. 4 star - not any more though may have been 3 years ago. Needs some TLC; air conditioning; + a little more attention to small details. Really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed only one night at Mercure Burton upon Trent Newton Park Hotel but we had a pleasant and relaxing stay. We took our lovely pooch Java because the hotel is dog friendly, which heightened our brilliant experience.
Our room was clean, modern and quite spacious for the three of us. It was also garden facing with a large window. We ordered room service so we can enjoy the comfy room longer, and the food was amazing. You should try the lamb rump.
We should also boldly highlight the friendliness of the staff. Always smiling and helpful.
Thanks for having us. We’ll see you again in the future.

We stayed for 2 days over Christmas. The staff all worked incredibly hard, were cheerful, helpful & accommodating. The general areas of the hotel were lovely & had character. The grounds were picturesque & well maintained. The room we were in had a lovely view but needed attention, we only had 1 chair & 1 bedside cabinet, apart from that the room was comfortable. The food on offer was plentiful and delicious. Wine was expensive & not very palatable. Overall we had an amazing break & would like to thank all the staff for making our Christmas so memorable.

Hugely impressed with the one night stay I had. All members of staff I encountered were friendly, helpful and smartly dressed.
The room I stayed in was big enough, very clean and the bed was super comfortable. Bathroom was well presented and well sized.
Plenty of parking spaces and a stunning view!
The location is good too.

Strange but lovely hotel. An old manor house type building which had been turned into a hotel. The wooden staircase and indoor stained windows were facinating and unique.
The rooms themselves were very nice and modern. Mine was overlooking the rear gardens which was lovely.
The restaurant / bar food was very expensive so opted to walk down to the local pub (The Unicorn Inn) for dinner and a few real ales which are exceptional in this area.
Breakfast was very good and cooked fresh to order but at £16.50 also very expensive.

We went for a big family party and the hotel is a lovely old building with a nice garden. The service from the staff from check in to check out was excellent.
We had a large family room which was nice and clean, but it was looking a little tired as was other rooms. But is an old hotel I suppose and it does have character.
The bar ran out of ingredients for popular cocktails very early but the food was great.
We had breakfast in the morning which was a buffet style and probably the best I have had.
The only real big problem with our stay (which we accept was a one off but it still happened) was they were unlucky enough to have a broken waste water pipe outside. This meant most of the downstairs of the hotel had an awful smell.
It would not put us off coming back but it wasn't the nicest aroma to be at a party.

Fab little hotel, staff are very friendly and offer to help at every opportunity. We only spent the one night here but was the best nights sleep ever. The rooms were very clean and the beds were so comfy and provided you with plenty pillows too. Breakfast was buffet styled with something for everyone. Highly recommend this place for long and short stays.

This place is beautiful. The staff are really lovely too even the lady who greeted everyone at breakfast, she was very chatty and looked genuinely interested in what people were doing during their stay. The rooms are lovely and spacious and the beds are very comfortable, I had a lovely sleep. I came here on a coach trip so I didn't book myself but if I was in the area I would definitely book this one :)

Had a lovely stay here after visiting friends in Derby. We stayed one night & took our dog. Staff very friendly & couldn't do enough for us. Lovely gardens & breakfast was gorgeous. Would definately stay here again

We stayed at the hotel last night with my husband and daughter. As soon as you see the hotel you get very impressed with the outside of the building and when you go in it's even better. Absolutely loved it. Fantastic ambience. Our room was nice and clean and also had breakfast, sat at a table facing the gardens. Was beautiful and breakfast was really nice too. Would definitely recommend it.

Only spent 1 night there not enough to form a decent review. It was our works christmas get together. Had a comfy bed. Kettle and cups in the room available. Breakfast available if you want breakfast but i didn't bother as was not hungry.
Friendly staff.

We stayed 2 nights, the hotel is looking a bit tired, but I must say that the service we received was first rate, all the staff could not have been nicer
and nothing was too much trouble.
We were allocated a room on the ground floor, it was very clean and
comfortable,would stay there again.

Hosaa the Spanish superstar is working so hard at this Hotel to keep it operating to a good standard. He is so hardworking and will do anything to provide exceptional customer service. The hotel itself is very relaxing, the food and wine are expensive and could be more reasonable priced which would ensure its guests eat and drink there and not at the local pubs
