The Alfred is a cozy, rustic neighbourhood pub in the residential area of Burton-on-Trent (when you're leaving the station, turn left over the railway bridge, then right into Derby Street), and certainly a great option in this part of the town. The beers served are by Burton Bridge, a local brewery,
A two room bar acting i believe as tap for Burton Bridge Brewery who have some nice beers. Also guest beer on tap.
By chance, and third time lucky, we had lunch at The Alfred today as our two previous choices were closed. What a great find. Initially we were disappointed to find the pub was fully booked for lunch but the staff were able to find room for the six of us, what a relief. We each had the Sunday roast
In Burton God said let there be beer. And God saw the beer, that it was good.
And in this pub there is good beer by the artisans of Burton Bridge Brewery who are Salsa's...
It has clean modern decor with rustic touches.
A worthy place to stop after some Viking bashing and you can hand in your cud
Really nice Ale House with a nice selection of guest ales 🍺. No noisy music or televisions in the back ground allowing you to put away mobile phones enjoy a pint or two whist partaking in that ancient art of conversation. I recommend you try it 😉
To my shame I have lived 1/2 a mile away since 1996 & have not been inside the pub. I was walking my dog today at 4.00 pm ish & fancied a pint. A very pleasant bar person (can't say barmaid nowadays) served me with a pint of festival ale(about 5.3 abv if the memory hasn't let me down). As an ex publ
Used the Alfred years ago but not for a long long time.
But called in today to see some old friends and was surprised to see just how much it was so much improved in always. Beautiful pub and meals smelt beautiful.
Found the Festival a little bit moorish.
Very nice staff, really worth a visit.
Visited for the first time and was very surprised at the beautiful interior. Much better than you would expect from the outside. Erdinger on Draught in iced glasses was delicious
Really nice pub. Very friendly staff and a good choice of well kept ale.
Great pub, we use this pub for a large group get together. Good drinks selection and a large handy carpark at the back. Be aware that they don't serve food every day so check in advance if you are after a meal
Very nice friendly real ale pub. Clean and inviting inside. No TV evident, but radio music played. Short walk from station but has a car park at the rear. Well recommended!
Quiet little place, good selection of ales, and nicely kept. Xxx
Had a lovely Sunday lunch, good fresh food.
Nice selection of beer. Always welcoming Staff. Comfortable surroundings.
Lovely friendly pub with a good selection of local real ales plus a guest beer. Live music on fairly regularly too. Always a good atmosphere.
Very clean and pleasant, a lovely pub, plenty of good beers, though the bright cool white lights around the bar are a little harsh
Welcoming bar, friendly staff and locals with a good range of drinks. Close to the station and town centre, ideal for travelodge guests after a relaxing drink.
Great food and nice real ale. Lovely pub with loads of atmosphere.
Great pub, good company, lovely home cooked Sunday dinner
