Sump - Burton upon Trent - Photo album

The Sump looks amazing, all decorated up for Halloween. The atmosphere is great, food is gorgeous, and service is brilliant. Staff are friendly and helpful. Had scampi, chips, and mushy peas, served with a lovely tartar sauce. To follow a very tasty Blood Orange and Chocolate Brownie with ice cream.
Beautiful old pub, very clean. Gorgeous setting by the river. Helpful and hardworking staff. Didn’t have to wait long for our meals which were nicely presented, cooked as requested, tasted good. Our desserts came in generous portions and were delicious. Thank you.

Food was good and served pretty quickly, especially as the poor serving girl was serving food to all in the pub! She forgot the dips included with the meal, but it's to be forgiven as she was single handed and we asked at the bar for them. Our only disappointment was that we weren't made aware of th

Lovely pub, very clean. Friendly bar staff. Good choice of drinks and good food. Lovely outdoor seating right by the river and weir. All Covid rules are in place and a very safe and secure environment. We will definitely be back.
Lovely views of the river, music was a bit overpowering and took over the sound of the river. Nice family atmosphere and very polite and friendly staff. Beer was nice.
We have been to the Sump several times before and particularly like the great setting next to the river, the reasonable prices and friendly relaxed atmosphere. On this visit we all (wife, son and I) had starters main course and desserts. The food was nice and tasty, certainly no complaints but could

Perfectly good food (nothing fancy but well prepared pub grub classics) at a very reasonable price. Friendly staff. Only minor quibble would be low sun shone in through conservatory window making my partner a bit uncomfortable.
