Lovely coffee, great cakes and a wonderful host. What more is there to want?

Four of us visited for the first time on Thursday for afternoon tea prior to visiting hoar cross hall. The welcome, service and afternoon tea was beautiful. A great selection of sandwiches, a sausage roll, warmed scones of our choice and 3 delicious slices of cake each. Nothing was too much trouble. Very nice quaint venue. Will defiantly be retuning.
Lovely tearoom, extensive menu, very reasonably priced, we wanted to share a toasted sandwich, staff helpfully obliged putting our order on two plates, other establishment have usually only provided extra cutlery, everything was excellent, tasty and fresh ... thank you
This is a great place for cyclists, walkers and just for a drive out.
It is a quaint old shop converted into a tea room.
The staff were lovely and friendly and were willing to listen to ideas.
It's not a big place and lots of cyclists at once would mean a bit of a wait for a seat, but they are fast and efficient.
The cake is fantastic and moist.
Well worth a visit and one that I will go back to.
Stayed there with a friend in a gorgeous room with a really comfy bed opposite the Red Lion that had great food at a very reasonable price. Owners were delightful and charming. The man is a massive Newcastle fan and loves it when you slag off Sunderland. Can't recommend enough.
When you find a gem, you want to make sure that it stays a gem. You want to know you that it will always be there whenever you want a place to stay.
Everything was perfect. Breakfast cooked to perfection and absolutely what we asked for. Our bedroom with everything anyone could want, including an extremely comfy bed.
When you are trusted with a front shop door key you know your hosts are welcoming and nothing is too much.
Recommendations for places to eat were perfect.
The local area is beautiful.
Yes we will be going back. Thank you for my flowers and the yummy delicious cakes we had when we got home.
On our way for a spa day, we stopped off for morning coffee and cake, and so glad we did! The service was first class, very attentive, friendly and extremely welcoming. We sat outside in the sunny cottage garden sipping our deliciously frothy cappuccino and tucked into the best lemon drizzle cake we’ve ever tasted! Definitely worth a visit Well done ladies
We stopped in for lunch while in the area and are so glad we did! The chimes jingled as we opened the door, telling us that this is place to come in and be as you are. The owners, sweet and chatty friends who have opened the cafe together, have set an atmosphere that is both intimate and relaxed - as though you’re in your aunts living room rather than a cafe with strangers. We are coffee drinkers and the coffee was good! The meals are basic but quality, certainly no sense of cutting corners, and the prices are good! This is a place where you will get a real feel for the friendly and warm area of Newborough.
We stayed here overnight whilst attending a wedding at near by Hoar Cross Hall. When we arrived we were made to feel really welcome and shown to our room by Karen who explained in great detail everything we needed to know. Before we left for the wedding we visited the Red Lion pub where we met Karen and Dave and their adorable cockerpoo dog. We chatted for a while as though we were old friends which made us feel even more welcome. The following morning breakfast was served ( full english). Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. If we were ever in the area again we would definitely pop back for a coffee or to stay over. Highly recommended 👌
Lovely place for lunch. Staff very helpful. Lots of choice and some delicious cakes! Will definitely return!
Lovely place for afternoon tea. Ladies who run it delightful, very friendly.
Dog friendly for well behaved dogs.
Lovely choice of sandwiches and cakes. Nothing too much trouble.
Love it!!! 😊
I am becoming a regular here 😊
Only 12.95 for afternoon tea. The best afternoon tea I've ever had. Even better than Weston Hall and the price is so reasonable.
Such lovely ladies who run it.
They deserve to do well.
