Four of us visited for the first time on Thursday for afternoon tea prior to visiting hoar cross hall. The welcome, service and afternoon tea was beautiful. A great selection of sandwiches, a sausage roll, warmed scones of our choice and 3 delicious slices of cake each. Nothing was too much trouble.
Lovely tearoom, extensive menu, very reasonably priced, we wanted to share a toasted sandwich, staff helpfully obliged putting our order on two plates, other establishment have usually only provided extra cutlery, everything was excellent, tasty and fresh ... thank you
This is a great place for cyclists, walkers and just for a drive out. It is a quaint old shop converted into a tea room. The staff were lovely and friendly and were willing to listen to ideas. It's not a big place and lots of cyclists at once would mean a bit of a wait for a seat, but they are fast
Stayed there with a friend in a gorgeous room with a really comfy bed opposite the Red Lion that had great food at a very reasonable price. Owners were delightful and charming. The man is a massive Newcastle fan and loves it when you slag off Sunderland. Can't recommend enough.
