Great food and tasty cocktails! Staff couldn't have been friendlier, great decor and atmosphere (even on a Tuesday!) and price was more reasonable than I imagined. Would definitely recommend and visit again!

I go to the crossing often, sometimes twice a week. Their menu is wonderful and always changing. The staff have an eye for detail... which some people mistake as them being slow. The crossing, to me, is the perfect pub.

Old pub with modern twist, food was great, real ales on offer, the staff were lovely and friendly and we even had live music - a relaxing Sunday afternoon, what more could you want ...

We had a great time this evening, the food, drinks and service were fab. Nothing was to much trouble, I asked for something that they do not sell in advance of the booking and they had this ready for us on the table on arrival. Thanks for a lovely evening.

A good selection of beers Madri lager & Neck Oil light IPA to name a couple of my faves albeit a lot more expensive than other local pubs. Very good food too in a really well refurbished pub in traditional style.

We called in on Saturday lunchtime/early afternoon after doing some Father's Day shopping. To be honest we were going to Wetherspoons just for a drink but after looking online at nearby pubs, we decided to go to The Crossing. The food menu, together with the positive food reviews encouraged us to sample their offerings and the reviews weren't wrong. We both had burgers, I had the Saxon burger with a Fire Bucket chip upgrade washed down with a pint of Neck Oil and my wife had The Rooster chicken burger with normal chips. Both were very tasty and my chips were to die for. Sorry Wetherspoons, next time we're in Burton we're definitely going to The Crossing again to try something else from the menu. The only reason I gave 4 stars for the service, was that when the waitress came over to take our order we weren't quite ready and they took a long time to come back to the table.

We love this place. It looks great inside and out. Someone may think that the cleanliness is not perfect like everyone else's home😉 ....... But the customer attitude is not likely to leave you indifferent. Super friendly staff, they always try to do their best to keep you happy here. Among the pizzas I probably like the Catalana the best, also the red fish wrap is delicious . The kid loves (sweet potato) fries. And how to do without ice cream 😂. It's nice that many of the dishes can be ordered with a gluten free option. Waiting for warm weather to sit in the cozy courtyard.

First visit to the Crossing after it's short closure due to change of management. Was apprehensive as we loved how it was and hoped nothing much had changed. Shouldn't have been worried when we walked in and saw Lizzies smiling face! Ambience remains the same with prompt, friendly, informative service from the aforementioned Lizzie. I was concerned by the prices initially but however, the food we enjoyed was well worth the cost. Love the new selections of Wine too. Will definitely be back to sample more. Thanks for a lovely visit.

Lovely place to be, nice staff. The menu is large and lots of different lagers on tap. I made the mistake of ordering the bucket of fish and chips- it was too much to have! Really tasty just massive. I also had a dessert which was very nice- a scoop of chocolate ice cream. The prices are good and I think this is one of best places to eat and drink in Burton. The interior is so pleasant; shabby chic and comfortable with light background music. The toilets are clean and tidy. I will return! Free parking to the rear.

There is nothing bad I can say about this gem! It was my 50th birthday we ventured into this hidden jem on my birthday afternoon just for a couple of pints. The decor is lovely very shabby chic, but what most stood out, was the extremely friendly bar person called Hannah, such a lovely person very friendly and chatty I told her it was my birthday she wished me a happy day We also had a good chat, she gave us the menu to have a look at because I didn't know where I was going to be going for dinner for my birthday, I have to say I have not seen a menu so varied, the descriptions of the foods that were on the menu looked so good I really felt like I needed to try this so we booked for my 50th birthday meal at the crossing. On arrival the lovely Kira as if we booked to which we replied we had she found us our table and then brought us I complimentary bottle of prosecco with strawberries! So yes I'm already sold because well.... Free alcohol and who doesn't love prosecco and strawberries come on! I ordered the hanging chicken kebab with the pork chips bucket my husband ordered the fish finger sandwich which is no ordinary fish finger sandwich I must say, and the fire cracker chip bucket. I was absolutely blown away when she bought the meals to us, presentation was absolutely amazing, I had a plate full of salad with slaw, and hanging above it was this gorgeous looking charcoal grilled chicken kebab! I have to say I have never had anything that tasted so good other than at this place! I don't usually actually leave reviews, when places are mediocre, but this place just completely blew me away! The food is amazing the staff are polite, easy going friendly, just can't do enough for you. My husband described his meal as outstanding! As a fish finger sandwich goes this was the most posh I'd ever seen! We also had a cocktail which were equally amazing such a lovely taste. From start to finish the experience of this lovely pub was a tantalising taste bud tickling wonderful gem of a place which I would highly recommend to anybody in the area to try. You will not be disappointed! Well done the crossing You deserve 10 stars not 5. Best wishes from Helen. 50 today lol x

Oh this place was so good. A dark. A little sparse. But the bartenders were amazing and kind and funny. And the food was Amazing. If I lived local, I'd be here all the time. Go in. It's worth it.

Excellent food and service - although it was a bit slow. The interior design is stylish and arty. There's even a saw and hammer dangling from the ceiling! Some of the seating is reminiscent of Louis XIV chairs.

Lovely dog friendly pub. The hunters chicken pizza, margherita pizza and fish finger sandwich were great, the muddy nachos were fantastic! Spacious beer garden.

The Crossing is, by far, the nicest pub in the area. They have a great selection of beer on tap. I ate there twice. I had a burger and fish and chips. The burger was good, but the fish and chips was very good. They gave me a huge piece of fish that was cooked perfectly. I'm not sure what the little things are that they put on top of the fish though (maybe it's an English thing?). I definitely recommend The Crossing, especially the fish and chips!

The menue here is great, the wording alone sets your mind alight with the tantalising prospect of whats to come. With my friends i pondered over a steak which they had had before and recomended or my go too, a burger. They had only seen others order burgers but their description sold me on one. I upgraded the chips to porky chips just because the description on the menu had me salavating at the thaught of them. Its safe to say i was impressed when the food arrived at the table, it looked great and tasted amazing 😊 after folowing it up with brownies and ice cream i was thoroughly satisfied. This pub has a warm inviting atmosphere and if your after food in an evening with your friends in burton, i'd highly recomend coming here. 😊 They were even kind enough to light the candle for us!

Absolutely amazing food. Great quality. We had texas burger and lamb kofta greek salad. 😋 I've never tasted a salad like it, it was beyond amazing. Compliments to the chef. Will be back. Well recommended. £40 for two mains and two drinks. Hearty portion sizes.
