I wish I could leave more than 5⭐️ review. I organised to meet my friends on Sunday just go to celebrate my birthday and have a good catch up with the girls. We planned an afternoon tea for 3pm. The communication and assistance leading up to the day was second to none. One of my friends is a vegan and sometimes it can be quite difficult to find suitable options for her without her missing out. We arrived on the day and was greeted by Josh. He was really professional and informed me of everything that had be done. The girls was also fantastic and so attentive. The afternoon tea was amazing, so much choice and incredibly fresh. The vegan afternoon tea was phenomenal. I have always loved this place, both as a shop and for coffee and cake. This has given me another reason to love this place. Thank you so much for all your hard work guys, you made it a lovely birthday for me ☕️
Already loved this place, but they've made it even better! I'd recommend it to everyone. The champagne breakfast is amazing for a special occasion 🥂
I love this place. And if you want the best chocolate milkshake you have ever tasted.....with an added shot of baileys, if you fancy, this place is the ONE. And the lemon drizzle cake is A DREAM. I don't venture to burton very often but when I do I can't resist taking a trip to the lowercase coffee shop
Thank you to the Alphabet Gift Shop and Lowercase Coffee Shop for donating a gift voucher for the Bowel Cancer Awareness Raffle being held by The Colorectal Team at the Queens Hospital, Burton on 18th April. We have had some amazing raffle prizes donated. Feel free to contact me for raffle tickets!! Thank you for supporting this worthwhile cause.
Frequent visitor to Lowercase(previously before refurb) and since and we absolutely love it! We had breakfast on Saturday morning for my daughters 18th birthday and Josh and Sarah couldn't have been any more helpful, taking our orders at the table, advising us of how long the food would be and delivering a beautiful freshly cooked breakfast to all 8 of us. People need to understand that it takes time to settle down after a big change like the one you have undergone, so a little bit of patience would be appreciated by the team at Lowercase I am sure whilst they are adapting to new staff, new customers, and a new working environment.Freshly prepared.food, in beautiful surroundings and a lively atmosphere is a winner in my eyes, well done to the team x
Fantastic Afternoon Tea, staff were helpful & attentive. Food was delicious. We weren't the easiest of parties to cater for! There were numerous phone calls with menu changes and last minute alterations. Nothing was too much trouble. A few of the party hadn't been there before, they said it was the nicest Afternoon Tea they had been to. Highly recommend.
Lovely place. Very Impressed with food, drinks and fantastic service. Best little coffee shop in Burton .
Lovely place, friendly staff and food is amazing. Will defiantly be coming back.
Had the scrambled egg with salmon and it was absolutely scrumptious. I couldn't walk past the kronuts, they are ultimate naughty pleasure. Brought some for my children and hubby and I've never seen something demolished so quickly... yum yum yum.. thankyou so very much to the lowercase cafe and bluebell bakery for making them.
Very friendly staff also, promised my kids that I will take them during the summer holidays and they asking me when
Cant praise you all enough x
Love this place - lovely atmosphere , great surroundings - consistently high quality food / cakes / coffee - loved my bacon , Stilton & walnut salad this week ! Beautiful selection of cards , jewellery , gifts etc in the shop too ! :)
Was good before but it's even better. Lovely food, friendly staff and a great atmosphere.
Best Coffee shop in all of burton. The tuna melts are to die for!!
A lovely surprise and about time Burton had some boutique shops and decent places like this! Great food and drinks and a lovely place. Definitely recommend.
Lovely place to chill with a coffee and cake, or grab some breakfast and lunch. The breakfasts, quiche and soups are particularly good. Love the refurb, it's a lovely clean place to stop at. Dog friendly too.
Simply great. Not your typical grease spoon. We went as a family with two young kids. Cosy atmosphere, very busy but not too loud. Quirky environment (all with price tags, so presumably you could buy them) The food and drinks were of a high standard, price was just right. The staff were very friendly and service was good. Car park makes it easily accessible.
Had a lovely evening here with friends at the Uncorked wine bar. Service was great, atmosphere lovely, sharing platters very tasty and just enough for two people. Night for four of us with two sharing platters and plenty of cocktails, beer and wine just over £140.
I've been here a couple of times recently, meeting with friends for breakfast and afternoon tea for mothers day and the food, decor and atmosphere are amazing. Its such a lovely place and I always enjoy a look round the gift shop too. I would definitely recommend coking here to everyone.
Popped in today with my mum and we were seated within seconds. The waitress we had was the sweetest! The food was lovely as was my milkshake! Reasonably priced too! Will be returning when the refurb is done!
Always enjoy visiting here, great cafe with lovely food. Had the Alphabrekkie, really tasty. Nice gift shop to browse around. New furniture in the cafe looks great.
Food- I had a brekkie but the bacon was hard. Otherwise nice. It was a busy lunchtime.
Service was slow, 20 mins for drinks only. However everyone was pleasant and helpful.
A bright, comfy cafe, lovely ambience.
I will go again as I felt quite relaxed.
We always enjoy our trips to Burton because we always finish at the Alphabet Cafe. Whether it's breakfast, coffee and cake, or afternoon tea we always receive good service and the food and drinks are consistently excellent. Additionally, the children's menu is well designed and children are definitely made welcome. We will continue making the Alphabet Cafe our venue of choice 😀
A lovely place. As well as a nice café, it sells gifts. We had drinks. One Fentimen ginger ale, and a latte with a shot of vanilla. Staff are friendly. COVID precautions in place. You either scan your details or write down your details for track & trace. Then you can order at the counter. There is outside seating as well. Next time we'll try the food 😋
I visited again in Feb 2023.
As you go in you wait to be seated. They serve breakfast and lunch. They have the usual hot beverages and cakes, also they serve larger and wine.
I had the raspberry bakewell tart .... a little dry for my taste, but the americano coffee was good. I also treated myself to their luxury hot chocolate.
Do people take pictures of loos? Well, I did, and as you can see they're clean and tidy. They're at the back of the café.
A relaxing place for all the family.
Very trendy cafe / bar in the evenings I’d like to go on one of the live music nights sounds fun! Gift shop is great for a browse too very bougie.
We come here all the time and love the atmosphere and coffee. Mochas are one of the best we've ever had! Lovely staff and nice food options. Wish you would bring back the Malteser slice 3
Great first visit since wine bar opened. Fab service,
food good value. Just need a blind at window to stop glare of sun. Definitely go back, welcome new modern bar to Burton Town centre. X
First visit today. A nice spot for food and coffee. I was only going in for a hot soup lunch, ended up trying more than I had planned to check the venue out for future working lunches. Food is good, reasonably fast and nicely fresh. For which I don't mind waiting a little. Coffee is ok - typical of most bistros (no need to fill a soup bowl with brown stuff) but they did prepare an Espress Macchiato for me which wasn't listed. Very much a 'ladies-do-lunch' venue but I'll be back in future. Thanks
Fantastic food, drinks and service. Chaz is a credit to the company, amazing customer service. Will definitely return!
Been coming here for years since our little one was born. She's now 9. Absolutely love a full English in here and they also do some lovely cakes roo
Popped into Lowercase Coffee Bar after visiting Alphabet Gift Shop. Great place for a coffee and food. Highly recommend the Baileys Hot Chocolate and toasties 😋. Fantastic service, friendly and very helpful staff in both the gift shop and Lowercase. Well worth a visit! 👍🏻
