Been to Helen's Bakehouse in Burton Marketplace twice with my partner and we had full English breakfast. The food was excellent. They also have a wonderful selection of fresh cakes, a lovely environment, reasonable prices and friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Returned from Solihull with friends from Dudley so they could experience this almost unique afternoon tea venue. There are plenty of other freshly cooked options but we were there for tea at lunchtime. Freshly made sandwiches with a choice of fillings served first with piping hot tea in crock pots with woolen cosies. A portion of coleslaw and sweet potato fries as a bonus. A slight wait for the freshly baked scones, served cream melting hot. Then the crowning glory of in house baked cake and tray bake. It is not the Ritz, the crockery does not match etc, but the experience is hard to find anywhere else. Our friends wished it was nearer so they could visit again. The staff are superb and Helen who was in attendance rules the bakehouse with friendly authority. Long may it continue.
Having just moved into Burton last week, I have been sampling the many various cafés in and around the town in search for the best full English breakfast and alas my search is over. By far the best full English by a country mile! The cafe itself is quite a qaint cosy little venue which is lovely decorated, the music playing in the back was a fantastic choice with a very easy listening feel to it.
The staff were all very attentive and welcoming, even having time for a little chit chat which is a great touch.
Will most definitely become a regular visitor especially with them being 150 metres from my home and business. Cannot express what a lovely place this is, service, food and atmosphere are more deserving than 5*
Came here today with my daughter for the first time and we left very satisfied. The service was great from start to finish, the food was lovely and the music/atmosphere was nice too. Will definitely come again.
Had a lovely slice of Lemon meringue. I don't recall having a better one ever!
It's one of those places you feel you have to leave a review because of how much you enjoyed it. Will be back soon
Nice caffe, good service. they have got gluten free options. My tuna mayo sandwich was quite nice. It was around three pounds (takeaway), which is a great price for GF sandwich.
The staff were lovley, food was so lovely and so reasonably priced! My mum and i shared a doorstop sausage and bacon sandwich and 2 crossaints and all was super! There is treats to take away too which is a lovely idea!
We will be returning for more soon!
