The food was absolutely delicious and served by very friendly staff. When we visited it was very busy but this didn't affect wait times. Beautiful surroundings too, we will definitely be back

We visited hive beach cafe today for lunch we had the best service there was a little wait for a table as there was 7 of us but the food and service really did make up for it while we were waiting for a table we were all given a mini hot chocolate which was a really nice touch !!! The staff really go out their way to make sure you have the best experience and make you feel so welcome. I had the whole lobster and it was the best lobster and prawns I have ever tasted the chips were lovely too!!! I will be telling everyone about this place definitely deserves the 5* !!!!!!

Is obviously much better if the sun was like it was today it was truly incredible. The Crab and the fish is excellent very fresh and everything that came with it was well done including the sauces. Service was pretty good too, the young staff were helpful... one young lady forgot my wife's latte so she gave it to her for free in the end. I guess sometimes it's all about Right Time Right Place Right people. But everything worked out really well today.

We had a great meal at a wonderful location and as it was bank holiday there was a 40 minute wait for lunch, however we were informed of this from the start and therefore were able to make a choice if we ate or not. We waited and the food was exceptional and the staff and service was fab. Will definitely be back.

Had a wonderful experience today. Was seated after a 3 minute wait overlooking the beach. Service was friendly, polite and courteous. The meal we had 3 courses was exceptional. All fish fresh and well cooked. It was a sunny day and they were very busy so service was slowish but it was such a great meal it was good to enjoy the wonderful views and chat. Well done guys we will be back.

I think I’ve had the best Bank Holiday evs... thanks to the Hive Cafe! Fantastic service, fantastic happy staff and food to satisfy anyone who’s just completed a two hour walk and was with her husband saying ‘Fancy a glass of Picpoul and some Lobster?’ We didn’t wait long for a table and it was glorious! Thank you we are SO coming back!

Superb !! 💗 This place is very busy so be ready to wait a few extra minutes to be seated and served. The staff is so lovely and accommodating and the food is mouthwatering so it’s all worth it. Plus the views! A hidden gem! A place you want to come back to again and again and again 🫶🥰

We visited Hive Beach earlier this week and had a quick coffee in the Cafe. It was quite busy at 11.00am in mid-September and I imagine it gets a lot busier at peak times. All the outside tables were taken and we sat inside. Excellent service, good quality drinks, and a lovely beach vibe. If the plastic blinds are down and the sun is shining, don't sit too close to them, as it can get very hot! Recommended.

Imagine a late afternoon, late summer, the sun goes down behind the cliffs, calm sea, some people still on the beach. The last sunrays lighten your pint. Each table has people and at least one dog. That was our experience. The service is fast and polite. We had fish and chips and grilled sardines. Very tasty. I really can recommend the restaurant.

Don't be fooled by the term "Beach Cafe"... this is a fantastic place to eat. The fish dishes on offer are the best around. The service is great and the views are amazing. If you like fish (there are other dishes on offer) a visit to The Hive beach cafe is a must

Great, dog friendly cafe. Now has a dedicated dog menu, which my Labrador perused and really enjoyed a venison chew, which kept him quiet whilst we ate. Been coming here, whilst on holidays, since 2008 and it just keeps on getting better!

What a little gem of a place. We went a couple of days after storm Ciaran in November 2023, when most of the beach and carpark appear to have been battered and partly washed away, but before the clean up operation could kick in the cafe provided perfect rest bite from the wind and the chance to sample a delicious breakfast

Really friendly staff and great selection of snacks & main meals to take away. All reasonably priced and some hood coffee too.

Very busy establishment, but staff still helpful and friendly, and food was lovely. Felt the scones were a little small on the cream tea, but perhaps that's perception as locally to us home made scones are double the size.

Some of the best simply stunning food I have eaten. I'm not sure what more I need to say?

The food is fairly decent, but I was expecting to get more for the money paid. A large platter for three people came with all food cold. This was not mentioned on the menu, and it was £130. We left a lot of it on the table as it wasn't very tasty. Staff are friendly, but there is a long wait for drinks and food.

The Hive Beach Cafe was busy for a February half term but the staff were very helpful and accommodating. The food seemed a bit pricey: fish and chips is £21 and the crab sandwich with veg crisps/side salad was £13. We had the crab sandwich which was generous and a side of chips that were light but chunky. But they are the only eaterie near the beach and the view is unbeatable.

We went on a really sunny day and couldn't sit at the front because it was too bright and hot. They need to get some blinds to pull down. Everyone who was seated at the front asked to be moved. Food was OK but the veg were really greasy and I couldn't get through them. I've always been told how good this place is but I have to say I was disappointed. Also be aware that it is an NT car park which cost me £4 to park for 2 hours. Won't rush back. On the plus side the location is gorgeous with lovely beach/sea views. Staff were super helpful and friendly.

Lovely place, staff are young but do their best. My Wild Bass whole dish was amazing, didn't expect it to be that good! My fiancé's fish and chips were only like warm. Looking around though, everyone else's was steaming hot so I won't let that reflect this review. The fish and chips were ok, but in comparison to my Wild Bass dish - the fish and chips seemed bland, but that's our fault for expecting normal fish and chips to be as good as the wild bass, with £9 difference between the the two. It's all a bit pricey mind, look at the menu everyone. But I guess they can charge what they like, it's good, and I'll be paying it again! 😁
