Went here for the first time last night with my colleagues for a leaving do. Great pub on the outskirts of Burscough with friendly and professional staff, excellent food (I had the scampi for main and the Biscoff sundae for dessert) and a lovely beer garden :) Plus you get a pager that goes off when your meal is ready. Highly recommended! :)
Gorgeous little pub we went to yesterday for lunch and they are dog friendly too! Me and my partner had fish and chips & a burger for lunch was lovely food! We took our dalmatian with us who loved it too! He even got to have a sausage. The staff are lovely & friendly the manager even took our dalmatian in the beer garden for a sniff about for us while we enjoyed the rest of our meal. Thank you again highly recommended!
Fantastic place to eat and have a pint came for a Sunday roast the staff are so friendly nothing is too much for them even demanding kids. The lamb was cooked to perfection, potatoes soft and fluffy inside it all just melts in your mouth. The portions really generous too. There is a well equipped outdoor seating area with a playground for kids and mini football pitch. All round great place for the family would highly recommend this place if you are in the area or passing through. Very cosy with modern decor but not over the top gives this place a homely feel.
Can't express how positive our experience at the Bull & Dog was. We had a large birthday booking for a Saturday lunchtime with various dietary and accessibility needs. The staff went above and beyond to make it a fantastic meal. Food, setting & staff were all 10/10. Thank you.
Visited the Bull and Dog for the first time for a nice lunch with a friend. The pub has a nice convivial atmosphere. The decor is cosy. Upon seating down the staff was really nice and approachable. There is a good selection of dishes on the menu. The food we order was really good. I had a rump steak 🥩🍺 cooked as requested perfectly. The portion sizes and prices are very reasonable. I'd recommend this eatery as a place to visit. I'd definitely go back 🤷🏾♂️👍
Had a wonderful meal here, massive thank you to Daisy who was extremely attentive and made our experience very delightful, she did not stop the entire time we were there keeping on top of everything running both the bar and restaurant, very impressive! We will definitely be coming back.
Another one I’ve driven past many times for work and was eager to visit. Great place indeed and the chap on the bar assisted me with finding Cask Marque pubs in the area. Top notch 👍

This was the first time we'd visited this pub. We found the staff very welcoming and showed us to our table. The layout is fully covid compliant, and stubbly clean.
Mains included a roast, burgers and a selection of children's meals. The burgers are perfectly cooked and extremely tasty. Whilst the turkey roast was absolutely superb, a delicious dish.
The outside play area is just out of this world the kids loved it. By far the best one we've ever seen.
Make sure you get yourself booked in for a wonderful experience. As ever great value for money, the highest standards for food and service. A real gem in the crown for Burscough.
Popped in for a pint on my way home and Charlie the bar man was full off knowledge and very attentive, he’s a credit to the pub. Busy bar didn’t seem to phase him, would definitely come back for his service. He deserves a rise
Fabulous pub. Great outdoor area for adults and kids, plenty of space for kids to play and good swing park. Under cover outdoor area for all and inside looks like it has been recently updated, it's comfy cosy and friendly. Staff are young but we'll motivated and attentive. Food is great well portioned and not expensive. They have live music and a marquee for outdoor events. I've been camping near by (10 Minutes walk from Abbey farm caravan park) and love this pub it has every thing, we will be back.☺️
