I really enjoyed it. Really good bar staff, she is nice and polite. Food was amazing. The atmosphere was cosy and chilled. Great selection of local beer. This place is a 16th Century traditional English pub located in Burrough on the hill, Melton Mowbray.

Lunch A pub with top credentials. This fabulous little village pub has been on our list for a while. Just looking at the chef's pics each week makes your mouth water. We could resist no longer and as it was a sunny day decided to venture out to here. We don't go to places for its insta selfie walls and latest neon whatever 🤣 We go for the most important part. The Food. It's really lovely and cosy inside and has a nice brightly lit dining area at the back. As well as some nice tables outside to sit in the sunshine 🌞 We went for their 3 course set lunch at an amazingly affordable £25. They also do a main weekly changing menu with so many temptations. As you would expect, the food exceeded all expectations. Service was very pleasant and attentive. Review helpful like 👍 follow thanks

This is the best pub in the area. Whether you come here for food, or just nipping in for a few drinks, it is a great venue. Although I do find that you can't come here for just ONE pint. Dom has done a great job on the decor and is happy to chat to all customers, the FOH team are really friendly and will go out their way for you. The previous landlord never made it feel like a welcoming environment, that has certainly changed. I will recommend this pub to anyone.

Amazing amazing amazing!! The only word to describe this place.. Sunday lunch is in a class of its own. So many wonderful choices out of the ordinary no safe options here .. so many places offer boring starters run of the mill etc .. not here .. love it well done everyone service first class too

I never regret booking for a meal here… what those chefs can do with a potato alone is phenomenal… looking for good chips look no further… I’d got as far as to say best chips in England! The rest of the menu is also delicious not to leave anything out but make sure you get chips! Thank you all at S&H we will forever return (if there’s chips on the menu 😂) I’ll shut up about chips now…. But order chips they’re insane! Chips Chips Chips!

Fabulous! Lunchtime set menu was well priced and delicious. The goats cheese and black pudding starter was yummy and the bavette was perfectly cooked. We really enjoyed the chunky chips which were sooo crispy. Looking forward to going back.

Ideal place to feed and drink if you go for a walk round the iron age hill fort nearby with its spectacular views. An Interesting simple menu is served up by friendly willing staff in a pleasant space. Pricing is toppy for what is on the right side of fairly good basic food but a group of three adults and one child had a nice Sunday lunch so no complaints. I had the roast beef, dropped a point off because the meat wasn't the best quality, tough to be cut and somewhat chewy. The leg of lamb looked good though. Would recommend.
