Stopped for a late lunch with my girlfriend and we enjoyed the superbly priced lunch menu. This came at no cost to the food quality or portion size, one of the most succulent and well cooked burgers I’ve had from a pub. Expect the evening menu is even better, certainly a genuinely impressive gastro pub I thoroughly recommend!

We were here for a get-together after a funeral with the pub putting on the food. It was all good (spread of pizzas, sandwiches, pasta salad and chips) but the chips deserve a special mention. I'm not usually a big chip eater but these were superb - chunky, but with a fluffy inside, crispy outside and not a grey spot or eye in sight. This isn't our local, but I'd go back just to try the chips again!
They also had some local beers on tap and went to great effort to make a shandy without loads of foam.
We had a family meal at the Owl and Otter yesterday, booked late on Friday but helpfully accommodated me with a table at the only time we could get there and big enough.
Superb welcome and service, food selection was great and the Sunday roasts, well you need to be hungry! The pork and beef featherblade are huge, incredibly moist and accompanied with a generous amount of vegetables and potatoes, mash and roast all in a superb gravy.
But leave room, the desert menu is great and their crumbles and sticky toffee puddings will hit the spot.
Good selection of draught beers, wines and spirits too.

Came here for Sunday dinner. Lovely setting, the pub is self is very nice. service was very good, quick and friendly. Food is very very nice. The quality of the meat is very high and beautiful cooked, the portions are large but not over large.
Deserts were lovely.
I would like to give a five star review to The Owl & Otter 🦉 after a sensational lunch today, as we were leaving, I said to my friend, "I can't remember the last time I had service like that".
I had a beautiful mulled cider 🍎 (YOU ALL NEED TO TRY THIS) and a Christmas lunch (turkey, pigs and blankets - the works). Everything was cooked to perfection - I mean absolute perfection - even the garden peas!
We had four different members of staff come to us at various point during our meal to give us our food and take our orders, and each one of them was outstanding, gave service with a smile and was clearly happy to be going the extra mile to give exceptional customer service.
For dessert I had banoffee pie 🥧 The food had an ARTISAN edge and was presented in the most beautiful way. We have decided this will be our new tradition - to have a Christmas meal at this wonderful establishment. Thank you to Owl and Otter for making my day so enjoyable 🖤🎄

Went for dinner on the Sunday before Christmas. Our first visit and it won't be our last. Main courses were enormous but all top quality. Between the 8 of us we had pork belly, roast chicken, steak & ale pie and feather blade beef and each was superb. Deserts were excellent as well. Staff were attentive without being intrusive. A comfortable 2 course meal spread over 2 hours. Highly recommended.
Food was outstanding, I struggle to give it full five stars this time due to not being able to accommodate a booking of eight or two tables of four together. it meant we weren't able to catch up properly as a family. Sure I'll be back in the future though
Popped in on spec. Very nice place, relaxing atmosphere and cool music in the background. The food was excellent and good sized portions. The staff were great too. I'm planning to go back

It can't be faulted on the service, food and decor. Without doubt the nicest pub I've been to in the North East.

The place was very clean, staff were lovely and very helpful. The only thing we were disappointed in was they no longer serve meals on a night only do breakfast. There is place's close by to get a evening meal. The owner said it is usually full English but was prepared to do me scrambled eggs and toast. The food was well presented and good quality. The locals were so welcoming and very friendly. I would have a return visit no problem. 😊❤️
Staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly, from time of booking until we left. Going the extra mile, before even being asked. Food was amazing, as always, prompt service, great choice of food and drink. Deffo recommend a visit
Probably my favourite Sunday lunch around the Newcastle area. They serve your veggies on the plate (as opposed to on side dishes) which I appreciate. The cauliflower cheese is next level and there is enough gravy that you probably won’t need extra.
