A lovely old wharf , barn and cottage have been renovated here to a high standard set on the Liverpool to Leeds canal . We were told that to meet heritage standards of a listed building , everything had to be repaired or replaced using materials that were available back when the buildings were built , even down to the putty used to house the window frames . With that in mind , what a glorious job they have done . The accommodation we stayed in , the turner suite was so inviting! With a lovely old stone fireplace and super modern bathroom which despite being set inside a cottage hundreds of years old was befitting of its surroundings. Needless to say , we had a wonderful stay here including watching the sun set out on the canal side with a drink from the bar / restaurant out of the converted wharf . Hats off to the owners who have obviously put a huge amount of time and money into this venue . Needless to say we felt we didn’t stay there long enough and it was a shame to leave

This is a wonderful project for the historical enthusiasts of the canals. The wharf has been refurbished with a pub, restaurant, guesthouse, wedding venue, visitor's centre, and a biodiversity garden. Moorings make the project very accessible from road or canal.. With plenty of parking and room for 3-4 boats, this place is a secure, safe mooring in Burnley. The gates are locked at night, and Lee will issue a key if needed. Lee is an Army veteran and offers discounts to fellow veterans.

We host a stay & play group in the private function room at Finsley Gate Wharf every Wednesday morning. It is a fantastic space for any event. The room is beautifully decorated with a private bar and a big window with beautiful views overlooking the canal. The staff are all amazing and we wouldn’t want to host our stay & play group anywhere else! Thank you

We recently had our wedding at the beautiful Finsley Gate Wharf. The forge building is exactly what we wanted, rustic with original architecture. The blacksmith ceremony was a great added addition to our wedding. The venue room was the perfect size for our smaller more intimate day, but had loads of space to switch the room from day to night so the party could really begin. From start to finish all the staff where accommodating, helpful and always available for good communication. Each of our requests were listened to and fortunately we were able to have sparkles in the evening. The food was soo good and all dietary requirements were followed and clearly labelled. Unfortunately the weather wasn't on our side to make full use of the beautiful grounds, but there were opportunities indoors to get some good photos. The cottage accommodation was great for the bridal party the night before and family and friends from out of town to stay. The rooms were lovely with all the amenities we needed. Thank you to Sam, Lee and all the team at Finsley Gate for helping to make out special day amazing.

We have just been for lunch for my sisters birthday on sunday 2nd july. And the food was really lovely. We had a lovely young man as a waiter, we don't know his name sorry. He was very polite and lovely service. We will certainly be back and hopefully there will be profiteroles. 😁 but the cheese cake was certainly a very nice replacement. Thank you.

Nice place right by the side of the Leeds / Liverpool canal... shame about getting my beers in the wrong glass and getting flat pints .. just a little bit more training and attention needed .... but fantastic place and well worth a visit.....

Absolutely stunning place! The owners have done a fantastic job of renovating the old Mill and turning it into a top notch venue. The staff are lovely and the food is brilliant and reasonably priced. The beer is always spot on and also very reasonable priced. Could not recommend this place enough!

Stopped here for a pint in the sun after a day in Preston. Sat out side enjoying the serene scenery of the canal & beautiful surroundings, not to mention the geese & her goslings keeping us entertained. Lovely place, next time will have something to eat inside, polite staff.

We just had our wedding at Finsley gate wharf. Getting married in the forge located at the venue. The day was amazing. Lee, Sam and the staff are brilliant at what they do and nothing was to much trouble. Our wedding day could not have been better from start to finish, with great service and food that would be hard to beat. We can not recommend them enough. If you are just going for a meal out or having a party then this is the place to go. All our guests were stunned and overjoyed with what happened on our big day. We can not thank Sam and Lee and the Finsley gate wharf team enough for making the day perfect in every way.

Well what a find this has been! Beautiful converted saw mill on the Leeds and Liverpool canal with great dog walks and easy access to Burnley. The staff are super friendly and helpful and the food is well prepared and excellent value for money. Our young dog, who is full of beans, was also made welcome and they let us watch some rugby world cup coverage. Thanks for an excellent experience, you are doing a great job! Highly recommend.

Fantastic place, it was my first time here but will definitely be returning. Slight downside was that they had stopped serving food so I didn't have anything to eat. Beer selection was great, service was really good. 5*

We had our beautiful wedding day here on the 19th August. Everything was just perfect sam, Lee and the team there like one big family, all your staff and been amazing. Sam and Lee you went the extra mile to be there for our wedding day to make sure it all went smoothly and catered for our ever needs even getting us our favourite drinks in. The girls working the bar in the function room were lovely and hard working. The cottage we stayed in made everything less stressful on the morning of the wedding and was lovely and beds were comfortable. We married in the forge and all our guests commented how lovely it was in there and the blacksmith bill was lovely and got involved with the celebrant. Also a dog friendly venue with meant we could have our dog witch us on our special day. Thank you so much ❤️
