A stunning and well kept boozer, perfect stop off after a dog walk round Hurstwood Res for a no nonsense pub lunch in the sunshine, 2x pie and peas, 3 pints, change out of £25. Splendid.

Local pies served with peas and gravy plus a pint of Barnsley bitter. What else could you ask for on a Sunday teatime. Staff brilliant prices sensible. A proper local pub. Few and far between now. Will pop back soon
Called into the Crooked Billet After a great day walking the local moors. What a lovely surprise to find a beautiful old traditional pub. Excellent beer, staff and service were 10/10 and a pie, mushy peas and gravy at £4👍.
A true community pub of the kind that are in short supply these days. Quiz night, dominoes night, folk club, Spanish lessons, bike club and more fill out the evenings at the Billet. Lovely staff, first class ales and reasonable prices make the Crooked Billet a jewel in the crown of the village.
Some well earned refreshments following a walk around the surrounding moors. Good local beers, low prices and a friendly welcome in a pretty little village.

A cracking friendly local pub. Staff are helpful and courteous. Great beer especially the Billet Blonde and you can't beet a haffners pie to go with it. Good covered outside seating area, sat very far away from the TV screen unfortunately when we'd specifically asked to book for the football game. Pie was lovely at half time, wouldn't recommend the peas though. Not as expensive as I anticipated, overall good prices and the service was alright
