Weekday date night with my Wife. Her choice of venue, my turn to pay.
Lots of building work going on since our last visit.
The Lounge was just the same. It was packed and we ended up on a table by the door to the outside.
Slightly confusingly we got two menus because it was a Thursday. One was a £25 two course plus 1/2 bottle of wine fixed price one and the other was indidual items. Pretty much identical content.
Em had the fixed price
I was driving so I didn't.
Waitress we had was lovely, there was one woopsie when someone dropped a plate of food on a guest. There was a slight drop in the sound levels for just a moment. You can tell the waitresses were all young because it took quite a few minutes before the staff mustered to sort it out.
The food was great.
I don't get fish pie often, as no one but me likes it. The veggies it came with were great, and the fish pie was too...if too hot to eat for 10 minutes. It came in a little steel bathtub of a container...which I'm surprised hadn't melted.
My wife had the soft shell tacos, beef I think. Which looked lovely.
Sound levels are well damped, even though it was packed.
The only downside was the door into winter... sorry I mean the patio. They kep eaving it open as they were clearing tables outside.
It was like sitting in a wind tunnel. I am not sensitive to cold but the wind was freezing.
Brrr.
Burnley in Summer.
Otherwise it would have been a 5.
Fantastic Sunday roast! Friendly staff and great service.
Visited on Saturday with friends for a meal. Food was fantastic as usual , service was great , special mention to the waitress Beth who was extremely helpful and friendly.
