We had a fantastic two night stay at The White Buck in Burley. Our room was amazing and perfect for us and our dog, with a door straight into the gardens. The food was incredible, staff were fantastic at all times of the day and overall we had a wonderful time in the New Forest. Highly recommend.
Mine and my family's favourite place to stay.. such a lovely atmosphere, beautiful place and friendly staff.. nice food too! Will always be back to stay!!
Just made and put up all the Garlands and trees at the White Buck.. It looks stunning I hope everyone loves them. Fantastic venue.. lovely food and wonderful staff..would recommend to everyone whether for a meal or a stay.
This is a hidden little gem...haven't been in years & wow Wat a surprise! Lovely atmosphere, food & lovely staff!
What a lovely place!
The building is set in the most beautiful part of England. A secret country retreat.
The team that work at The White Buck should be very proud of the service they are providing. We arrived very late on Friday evening, after a pretty awful drive. A warm, professional welcome was given and a much needed bottle of wine provided!
Breakfast ... delicious! Full English with plenty of added treats from the cereal/toast/extras table. Very filling and set us up for a day of celebrations.
The bedrooms are very comfortable, huge beds with plenty of room for two big bears!!
Complementary sparkling/still water and London Pride beer. Most importantly for us, fresh milk with TeaPig tea for the first cuppa of the day.
All in all a very pleasant break. We will be back!
Wonderful pub, with fabulous food. Staff lovely.. thanks always to Charlotte behind bar.. and today for Jess bringing me a heavenly birthday dessert!
One of our favourite places!! Last Sunday we came in for my 30th birthday with a large party and everyone really enjoyed their food. Today we popped in spontaneously and wanted to say Thank You to Caesar for the incredible service on such a busy day!! The roast was incredible and we really appreciated you getting us in and seated in the garden! Perfect!
Lovely entrance to the hotel and in beautiful surroundings. Warm welcome and easy and quick booking in. Lovely rooms with lots of little touches to make it extra special. Everything is great quality from the furniture to the coffee machine. The food was outstanding and shows that Fullers really invest in their chefs. Can’t fault this place and will definitely be going back.
Relaxing , rustic charm. Very friendly staff. Tasty meals, fabulous breakfast , good vegetarian options. Produce sourced locally.
Lovely stay.
Fabulous Fathers Day meal celebrated with family and pooches. Excellent service, great atmosphere and delicious food as always. Thank u!
What a beautiful place. The Dinner was wonderful and the staff excellent ! Thank you for a lovely stay!
From the moment we arrived ,we was greeted and made very welcomed, the staff could not do enough for us ,the evening meal was first class ,the bedroom was very nice with a bed that you didn't want to get out off ,I would highly recommend this hotel ,and would not hesitate to go back
Having just traveled 4hrs back from Manchester after visiting granddaughter for her birthday. We opted to pop in for cheeky roast and pleased to say it finished off a great weekend. Friendly staff found us a table even though we had not booked. Fabulous staters Ham Hock, my Devilled Mushrooms with an amazing poached egg. 5 for me.
Plenty of meat on our plates and veg was tasty especially the roasted carrots. My only negative was that there was only 2 roast potatoes but I was so full when finished they were not necessary but they were so delicious I wanted more. I’m sure had I asked they would have accommodated me. The selections gins available on Gin Menu have your mouth watering just reading it. I’ve sampled a few over the summer and have always been presented beautifully and tasted delicious. The log fires gave a lovely atmosphere on a dark evening. Thank you we will be back soon.
Went for Sunday Roast. Booked well in advance, there were just 2 of us plus dog but the table was right beside the toilet & as it was busy, there was a constant flow to the toilets & nowhere for the dog to lay without being in the way. We asked for another table - none. Eventually found a tiny table in a corner of the Bar without chairs & without table service. Had to carry 2 chairs across the room as no staff member offered to do it. Luckily I am a fairly fit old lady.
The roast dinners were excellent though the beef one was cold. Could have done with more gravy.
I do like the food here and will come again, on a less crowded day 😀

We stayed at the White Buck for two nights for the wife’s birthday weekend & and really enjoyed ourselves.
Sherry upgraded us to a junior suite which was an unexpected but welcome treat. Thank you Sherry!
All the staff are superb and extremely helpful.
Thank you for a wonderful stay!
(P.s. They serve the best hot chocolate that I’ve ever had!)
Out to lunch with family. Beautiful location in the forest, plenty of parking and lovely beer garden. Sadly a mediocre meal, we all chose from the various roast menu, but disappointingly not up to expectations given the menu was on the pricier side for a pub lunch. Don't get me wrong, all edible, but not to the standard I would have expected from a hotel with a pub, and have definitely had better meals and service elsewhere. Portions were good, but looked better than they tasted. Maybe we just chose unwisely although we all thought a Sunday roast was a safe bet on a busy Sunday afternoon. Desserts were delicious, although small portions for the price. Lovely location for a drink . A generous 4/5 as could have been better, but better than a 3.
I actually really liked this place!
The service was quick and the staff are really helpful and friendly.
I had a pizza and it was honestly so full of flavour and a good size-I got to take half of it home in a takeaway pizza box
Highly recommend this place !!
We eat here quite alot and have had some lovely meals and snacks..
They really do listen to feedback as before I wrote a review about a lovely sharing platter not having enough flat bread..the next time we went there was plenty..lovely location..and also a lovely circular walk nearby.
Last meal they went the extra.mile to help with my nut allergy
Finished work around the corner at the YHM and wanted a pint and a bite to eat. Let me say on first arrival the place looks picturesque with it's surroundings. Walked through the pub doors and was warmly welcomed by two fellas behind the bar whom where extremely welcoming, was excited with the large selection of beers and ales on offer. After a few tasters me and my work colleague went for a London Pride and Beavertown...we then ordered the burger and daily pie special...both of which were excellent. I can't really fault the service in any way...nice to find friendly enthusiastic staff behind a bar. Also the place is clean especially the toilets so well done...5 stars from me!
Thankyou the White Buck for accommodating and supporting our recent off-site business planning event. Food, accommodation, outstanding service and of course the wonderful breakfast ladies made for an exceptional week. Thank you again for looking after us so well.
Had a wonderful lunch at White Buck.
This is our 1st time ….the food was excellent. The location was perfect had a good atmosphere to it. The service was very good…special thanks to Julie and Dawn and for the lovely thought and flowers for my Mum’s Birthday. Thank you all and we will be back for sure.
Good outdoor space with play area. Dogs welcome. When we were there service was very slow. We didn't eat there but coffee was good.
Great pub in the new forest. Loooooads of outdoor tables, sunshine and shade. Dog friendly!
Good selection of beers on tap.. Including Beavertown! Which you don't often see in country pubs.
A party of 4 had the Sunday roast , nice lunch a bit short on the vegetables , 1 carrot , 4 potatoes ( 1 being bad ) Nice beef, and nut roast . Very busy , glad we booked
Very nice hotel, gorgeous food, very friendly staff.
Nice touches in the rooms, too.
Coffee pod machine, speciality tea.
Bottled water, soft drink bottle of beer !
Chocolates.
Bath robes and slippers.
Very good breakfast with lots of choices.
We spent two lovely nights at The White Buck and the experience definitely exceeded our expectations. The staff was lovely and very attentive, and we particularly enjoyed both dinners; excellent food. Breakfast was decent but we felt the selection & flavors could have been improved. The room was spacious and comfortable, but we were a little disappointed by the lack of dusting, on the headboard and floors. Cleanliness could be a touch improved but overall we had a great few days in New Forest and would absolutely return!
We had our best dinner here for this trip. Service is impeccable! Very dog friendly.
We had dinner at the white buck twice this week. Excellent on both occasions and we would definitely return.
