Reviews The Queens Head

This is a brilliant pub and, in my opinion, the best in Burley. Not knowing the awesomeness of this pub, I unfortunately ate before coming here so can't comment on the quality of the food but the menu looked fantastic and I was surrounded by loads of very happy looking people munching away on steak, perfectly cooked eggs, etc. The ambiance and good beers on tap set this place apart but the friendliness of the bar staff make it a wonderful local. Don't be swayed by the Red Lion's enticing beer garden, the Queen's Head has one too! Just come here, now.

Love this place. A proper English pub from head to toe. Timothy Taylor's landlord on tap - actually they had 2 taps with it! A great relaxed Yorkshire pub ambience with a touch of class and a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere.

One of, it not the nicest, pub in Ilkley, the commonly named Queen's Head is anything but a common pub. It has no television screens, instead prefering to create an authentic, old school pub environment in which people have to socialise and talk, rather than stare blankly at a sports match. This gives the place its own rather different vibe - friendly and chatty while still remaining intimate and private if you want it to be. Good fresh beers and standard pricing, it is the perfect place to either start a night out in Ilkley or just to have one pint. The Queen's Head is also the proud owner of a sound courtyard drinking area. It's old school, but it's good.

Brilliant pub. Great selection of wines and beers and the best steak I have had in ages.

Starters and mains were all absolutely superb. Beef spring roll. Mozzarella and tomato with salad. Sunday roast, sirloin of beef. Roast salmon, potatoes and veg. Trio of ice cream. Drinks from the bar. Very reasonably priced for the portion and quality. Staff were attentive and polite. Atmosphere was pleasant and calm. Dogs welcome. Followed by a local walk. Perfect Sunday afternoon.

It has an attractive interior design, a pleasant atmosphere and the staff offer their service with with a smile but I was slightly disappointed with the quality of my Sunday roast, it was OK but it didn't meet the standard that I would have expected for the price. Having said that, I would certainly go there again and I strongly recommend it as a pub.

We stayed in the apartments above the pub and were able to bring the food and drinks upstairs. Everything was perfect, and the quality of the food and service was above and beyond. Strongly reccomend.

The food was brilliant: I couldn't fault any of it at all. Unfortunately the service wasn't as good as our previous visits.

Had a really nice meal just before Christmas. They have a new chef which seems to be working well.

Without a doubt our favourite local place to eat. We took my parents for Sunday lunch today and both the food and service was outstanding. It’s blown the other restaurants out of the water. Thank you!

Just had the most perfect Sunday dinner here. Everything was just amazing. Delicious food....kind of gourmet pub grub, beautifully presented, decent portions and cooked to perfection. Reasonably priced yet expensive enough to justify the quality ingredients, even the side dish of vegetables was cooked to perfection and great quality produce. The beef was perfectly cooked, with a massive yorkshire pud, just enough gravy on the side....it was a wonderful plate of food. Puddings were equally impressive, wonderful sticky toffee pud, a decent chunky creme brulee and a very nice choc and pecan tart. Staff are amazingly friendly and helpful and the decor and atmosphere is smart and stylish. Great range of beers and we had a lovely bottle of shiraz that was reasonably priced. Haven't had such a good Sunday dinner in a long time...will be back soon! Good and reasonable kids menu too.

Top quality local pub, but with a streak of individuality and quirkiness. Good selection of beers and wines. Currently going through a period of change and improvement, consequently food is not available as often as previously. The key nights are still full service though. Staff are friendly and service is good.

We've not been for a while. Sunday roast beef was excellent, however the sticky toffee pudding and creme brulee were the stars of the show! Superb service as well.

First time I've eaten there since the refurb and was excellent and well priced mid-week set menu. Staff were friendly, attentive and helpful, service was good, wine was also reasonably priced. For a last minute mid-week meal it was ideal, highly recommended
