We had a delicious Sunday roast: tender and tasty beef, a good range of vegetables, and possibly the best roast potatoes I've ever tasted. The service was discreet but attentive, and we felt very welcome, even though we stayed quite late into the afternoon. If I lived closer I'd eat here regularly.

Great food, great service and great location. Nice local pub that I love to drop in for some lunch, good price and good menu. Good spot if you are exploring the South downs as well.

We came here as a party of four for Sunday lunch. The food was very good (two beef roasts, one lamb roast and an avocado and prawn salad). The staff were lovely (competent, efficient and friendly). Our only criticism is where we were seated which was in a dining room with few soft furnishings and a wooden floor, which meant that when a family with two young children (one of whom was occasionally a little boisterous) and a large party of adults who were very noisy arrived, it became very difficult to hear each other on our table. Of course, it's not the pub's fault if they get some noisy customers in, but as we left we walked through a carpeted bar with three tables in (only one of which was occupied by another party of four) and this would have been ideal for us so we could have conversed more easily. We'd definitely go back for the food and attentive staff, but we'd ensure we ask for a quiet table in the bar now we know the lie of the land. :)

Absolutely lovely country pub which I would recommend to anyone. The service was brilliant and all staff were welcoming and friendly. The food was great and came out very quickly. Perfect location for a bite to eat or a drink after a dog walk or after exploring the countryside. Will definitely be coming back.

Brilliant country pub. Free roast potatoes on the bar. Reminder of the old days when this was a tradition of many pubs on a Sunday lunchtime. Highly recommended.

A lovely place to go, great food, had Sunday lunch, the half size, half price, was very generous. Great value and just about left room for a dessert too. Friendly, efficient staff, tastefully restored pub and the log burner made it very cosy. Will certainly go again and recommend to others

Under new management, and what a transformation. Now a clean smart proper country pub. The food is lovely and the chef obviously takes pride in his work. A couple of self contained small cottages available for rent if you're lucky as they seem to book up quickly. A fair selection of ales and beers in a nice calming dog friendly environment :-)

Great spot for a pint and something to eat. Beer was in excellent condition( just a shame they only serve Badger Beers 🤷‍♂️) The staff couldn’t have been friendlier and everything was priced fairly, which is pretty unusual for rip/off Peterfield.

Quaint little village, with a lovely church and pond. Great access to the Queen Elizabeth County Park. The Five Bells pub has just recently reopened under new management. What a lovely welcoming pub. Such a great atmosphere, with lots of old original features. We took family to have a Mother's day lunch and were not disappointed. The customer service was extremely attentive and friendly, as were the new owners, Les and Tanya. The Sunday lunch menu was great with lots of meat choices and vegetarian options. The food arived and was delicious and a very good size. The desert menu had a good selection too. Overall a very nice experience and we shall return for another meal to try from their weekly day and evening menu. Thank you

A newly found pub for us and we love it. The pub itself has been around forever but its recently had a complete makeover and its stunning, thanks to the new owners. The pub is warm and welcoming to all. Dog friendly, they have a doggy box with blankets and toys. Very child friendly, little bags of sweeties etc and a hugh toy box full of family games for all. The log burners inside the pub are lovely, we enjoy sitting near them. The garden is a abit like a secret garden, you wouldn't expect it to be as big as it is, again it's very pretty and will soon be getting new plants and more tables. The new menu is great, something for everyone, including a kids menu. (The sparkling new kitchen is due to re-open early March) atm they are providing loads of bar snacks. The cafe area is very sweet and fresh, the cakes I yet to try but they look delicious! On site they have two small cottages/holiday homes. These are very reasonable with price and again welcoming to all. They are also newly refurbished and im definitely going to be booking soon. The new owners are the nicest people and What they have done to the pub is amazing. I'd highly recommend a visit.
