Was greeted with a huge smile by who I believe was the owner. Sat down and was treated very well. It’s a very nice place with lots of character. Food was excellent. The starter of black pudding scotch eggs stole the show. Only minor gripe was we weren’t ask for a drink top up despite our glasses being empty when our starters were cleared. And the onion rings ordered with one of our mains didn’t turn up (we didn’t make a fuss and they weren’t on the bill). The food was excellent. I’ll be back and would highly recommend.
Went for my father in laws birthday last night and was a great night. Lovely place staff very helpful and polite and food was fantastic. Having known the owner Simon since school and his background as a butcher I always knew that the steaks were going to be amazing and they didn't dissapoint. Will defiantly be going back very soon.
Lovely meal last night, good service, friendly staff. Definitely recommend it. Thanks Joanna & Simon x

Visited today Sat 2nd June, excellent food, lovely staff, highly recommend we will definitely be going back 😊
I finally made it to this dining gem. The food was fabulous, service was relaxed but attentive. Thank you so much for a lovely afternoon relaxing with my little sis. Roast beef was delicious along with the very tasty dessert. Definitely highly recommended.
Fantastic food and a lovely pub/restaurant. Super friendly staff and great service. Be aware: generous portions!! :p :p We did waddle out very contented and will be sure to return.
We had the most amazing anniversary meal last night, the steak was incredible and beautifully cooked. The staff were professional and very attentive! What a little Gem, we will most definitely return. Thank you Butchers Block xx

Went this evening for an anniversary dinner. Food was amazing..... staff are amazing... location is perfect.... will be going back very soon and recommending this place *10/10
Family meal to celebrate my wife’s birthday.
One Sunday roast lamb and four steaks, the meat was
was lovely and cooked to perfection.
Everything arrived piping hot and stayed hot 👍
Great service, the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Will be returning soon with friends which has already been booked. 👍😀
A group of us visited the Butchers Block for a Christmas meal and by no means did it disappoint. The food was sensational and the service was fab. I will definitely be going back there again very soon.
This is a little gem of a place. Was recommended by a friend and would definitely recommend it myself. Tucked away in a village did not expect to see it there. The views were amazing. The food was 10 out of 10. Will return even if it's for the cherry rice pudding!! The staff were polite, friendly and helpful. The owners were really friendly and wish them luck with their new venture. 😊
We had a lovely meal at The Butcher's Block. My wife had the roast beef and it was incredible, plenty of food and a nice selection of vegetables too. My son and I had the fillet steaks and they were full of flavour and nicely cooked. A great selection of wines and lovely, friendly staff.
It was a very popular place and parking can be an issue. We parked on the road leading up to the restaurant rather than trying to get in behind the pub, that was much easier!
Was taken here for a surprise and goodness the food and service were impeccable.
Beautiful cosy pub and restaurant, good menu selection that is seasonal, kids menu was great too.
Food was absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend.
Small car park out the back 16/18 spaces maybe.
Dog friendly pub at the front.
Had a really delicious meal here Saturday lunch time. Food was delicious and big portions. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Couldn't ask for more
Had a fantastic Sunday roast here. We book easily online for a table for 2 at 12.30pm. The food was fantastic and the beef was so tender. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The bar and restaurant was very clean and tidy. It was the 1st we have been here and will be coming back.
A real jewel, great for steak lovers of course and there are choices aplenty. If steak is not for you there is plenty more on the menu, I plumbed for fish and chips and got a large chunky piece with great batter, huge chips and home made mushy peas which had a great taste. I couldn't finish mine so no problem with portion sizes. Our waitress was polite and knew the menu. The pub itself was nicely decorated for Christmas and was nearly full so definitely book as you may be disappointed.
The pub has its own car park and a nice outside area to sit when the weather is better.
Easy to recommend this gastro pub
After being to the Butcher's Block several times recently after a mediocre experience a few years back I can say it is really very good now.
They have a great selection of beers on draft, including local breweries, and very nice cocktail menu too.
Food has generally been excellent. My one gripe from my most recent experience would be that the steak and ale pie crust does not need such heavy handed extra salting given the pie contains Stilton, which is a fairly salty cheese. But minor point in an otherwise nice meal.
Really is great to see a local independent pub with such a great atmosphere and food. Kudos to the Butcher's Block!
Our first time after being recommended by family who live locally. Very buzzy atmosphere which was good. Service a bit patchy but they were very busy and it didn’t spoil the evening. Now to the food , starter of lobster bisque was very tasty but a very small portion for the price , for main we had fillet steak which was cooked to perfection but someone in the kitchen is too heavy handed with the salt. It overtook the other delicious flavours and we left only tasting excess of salt which was a shame We will try again though
We're so glad we found this place for our anniversary. The food was divine and the service was brilliant. Could not fault it.
Cote de Boeuf was fantastic, French fries with the peppercorn sauce- delicious
This is a lovely place to visit but food very expensive, the bill for the three of us came to £228 😮. A filet steak meal cost £37 and you don't get a lot for that although it was a lovely steak cooked to perfection. Onion rings are an extra at £6 a portion. If you give it a go raid your bank account first!
Visited some friends who have just moved to this area so it was our first visit to The Butchers Block. Definitely not the last visit though as the food was AMAZING! Took a punt on the Beer Battered fish and chips and it was the best fish and chips I have ever had and at 63 that's quite something. Our other meals were also very very good. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and good choice of drinks. Couldn't fault it, well done and thanks. We'll be back!
We went for an anniversary meal and I took my husband here mainly due to a friend recommending the steak! Lovely pub situated in a scenic area! I would say it’s better to park a bit down the road from the pub if you do struggle to get your car in their car park!
My husband went for a fillet with garlic butter and said that it was the best steak he has ever had! The triple cooked chips were a let down.
We also indulged in the desserts which were amazing. I had the peanut parfait and my husband had the affogato which we both thoroughly enjoyed. The presentation of the desserts were great. We would definitely come back.
Decided to visit The Butchers Block after reading some great reviews and as it is fairly close to where my father lives. We were NOT disappointed. Absolutely mouth-wateringly delicious food. My father and I had fillet steak, which was the best and most succulent I have had. My brother had the T-bone which was also pretty darn good. For dessert, I had the Creme Brulee (OMG) again amazing!!! I had booked another restaurant for my birthday in February, but this has now been cancelled and I will be coming here. Lovely little pub, great service and staff. Food is top-notch. Thank you, Caroline
First time in this quaint, cute pub! Instantly welcomed by staff and some of the locals. Some great outdoor seating at the front and out the back (beautiful view). Lovely Queens Jubilee decorations!
Note - car park is down a narrow alley and round the back!
WOW!
What an amazing meal and service.me and the wife went for a meal for our 9 year wedding anniversary and was not disappointed. Not a single thing i could improve upon. The cocktails are great. Especially the hurricane. Starters, mains and desserts were amazing. Waitress was friendly and attentive. The chef was amazing. Highly recommend. We will 100% be going back again. Soon.

I couldn’t believe some of the 1* reviews I have read on here, and I was right not to believe them,
We visited on Sunday and was greeted by happy faces which is always a good start, the food was absolutely to die for and the Champagne went down a treat!
I would highly recommend this to friends and family and I will be returning this Sunday if I can get a table!! 👌👌😋😋
The food here is just perfect. The quality of the meat is outstanding, from the steak menu to the pie of the day. If it’s on the menu, try the chocolate brownie, it looked and tasted so good it didn’t last long enough to snap a photo. To top it off, the staff are great and the pub has lovely relaxed atmosphere. Be sure to book in advance to avoid disappointment as it’s not a huge pub so limited on the amount of covers which adds to the charm.
A hidden gem that we came across whilst out on a walk. I bet the locals hate having to share this quaint little village pub with those passing through.
It's been brought right up to date as opposed to your typical kent village pub, but it's still kept some aged character. There is also a lovely garden and also parking.
We only stopped for a drink, but the food looks good from an experimental chef and kitchen staff.
