Stayed in Shilton with family and had dinner here on two evenings. Amazing food and such a great atmosphere. Matt the owner was so welcoming and as I missed out on mussels on our first night, made sure he ordered some so I could have them on the Saturday. They were excellent as were the tempura prawns! The men all enjoyed the local draught beers, hence our visit each evening! Thank you. Highly recommend this brilliant village pub.

100% was the best fish & chips I’ve had in a long time! Great owner made us really welcome even though the kitchen was just about to close! We were taking our daughter to Brize Norton for a flight to the Falklands and we’re really struggling after a monstrous journey & they couldn’t have been any more welcoming and friendly! Remember you offered her a job when she gets back! 😂 All the best Bruce, Suzy & Morgan (Scottish family) 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Stopped in this sleepy village for lunch and enjoyed a great steak pie and craft ales. The landlord was great and extremely attentive. High quality food and service off the beaten track, I felt like a local almost immediately

Probably my favourite little Cotswolds pub. A quiet little spot in a secluded village. Haven’t eaten here before but always happy to stop by for the friendly service and a nice cold beer.

Wonderful pub! From the warmest welcome on arrival (we had children and a dog and all were welcomed!!), to a wonderful pub garden, the most amazing food and a delicious bottle of wines. Super friendly. What a lace to while away a sunny Sunday afternoon!

Such a great restaurant in an idyllic town. We had the fish and shrimp and they were both cooked to perfection! Highly recommend swinging by for a pint to enjoy the beautiful town! The owner was very friendly and passionate about the menu!

A trip to the Cotswolds is not complete without a stop here to enjoy the fine offerings of a truly stunning old pub. Matt the owner is as a friendly as he is generous, going the extra mile to ensure we were well looked after. The finer touches to the grounds and facilities make for a perfect spot to indulge in some good old English hospitality

Really hospitable publican. Had a good chat, gave a fascinating oral history of the place, interior decor. Very apparent that the pub owner wants to provide an excellent venue, service, and atmosphere. Interesting selection of drinks. I haven't tried the food yet, but expect it to be equally as great. Decent sized pub garden, and most of all, it's dog friendly! Great to stop by after a walk for refreshments, or to even make it your destination itself. I really do look forward to returning with my dog, sampling the foods on offer, and having a relaxing time. Currently renovating the place, and the aim is to make it something really quite special. I look forward to this. A lot of the decor is authentic, original, and absolutely fantastic. The toilet cistern in the men's toilet is an original piece, with a fascinating pull handle. Who knew one could get so excited over a cistern, and it's pull handle?! Although brief, an excellent experience. Highly recommended.

What a fabulous pub! Owner very friendly, and helpful. Dogs are most definitely warmly welcomed in all areas. Even water provided when you get your refreshments. We were staying at the local caravan park, and booked for Sunday lunch, and we were not disappointed. We expected good things, but the food was incredible! The waiting staff very attentive and efficient as well. We will definitely return when next in the area. 5* all round.
