We had a wonderful meal at The Prince of Burford last week. We'd had a bad experience at a restaurant nearby the night before so were a little tentative but upon arrival seeing the seasonal decorations and well decorated restaurant we were immediately relaxed and made to feel welcome by the greeter. There was a nice variety of options and the food was delicious, the drinks were generous (not the tiny bottles of coke you often get) and the service was incredible. There was a problem with one of our side orders and it was whisked away and removed from the bill with an apology without us even having to ask. Highly recommended.

Had an early dinner with friends. The staff were lovely and there was a good choice on the menu. I chose the beetroot risotto…not normally what I would go for but after speaking to our waitress I thought I would give it a go and I’m so pleased I did, it was delicious!! Followed this with the yummy warm chocolate pudding and I was suitably full!! Only disappointment was to find out on our bill that we could have had a 25% discount if we were members of the loyalty club as we were there on a Wednesday night! I have now joined so I can benefit from this offer next time!! Thank you Prince of Burford, we will be back!

We had a lovely evening here in the restaurant to celebrate some birthdays. The atmosphere and food were both great. When the chef heard it was a birthday party, he sent out a complimentary plate of brownies. The service was great. Our waitress was Sarah. Any queries were quickly sorted out. Thank you for a most enjoyable evening!

Absolutely gorgeous place to stay. I had a superior room and glad I made that choice as the rooms some of my family had were quite petite. The room was spotless and well appointed with typical bits and pieces - water, kettle, iron, ironing board, hairdryer, toiletries etc. Bed was very comfy. The room was quite warm at night so I opened the window (good safety catch on the window) - downside to that is the traffic noise from the main road. Food in the restaurant was very good for me, although some of the desserts our party had on Friday night weren't edible as they'd been cooked for too long, probably microwaved. Prices for food are on the high scale but this is the Cotswolds territory so I suppose it's accepted. Beef burger and fries was around £16. Breakfast was good, curiously no normal bread for toast, only sourdough. One of our party arrived a little later for breakfast, 10.45am (room information suggested breakfast finished at 11am), she was told no more breakfasts, they were setting up for lunch. As we waited outside in the garden after checkout (also 11am) we noticed people who arrived after us being served breakfast. We didn't raise it as we'd already made the decision to head off on our journey but it seemed odd. Overall I've given the Prince of Burford 5 stars but lower for service as I did feel these elements mentioned reflect that. I would definitely come back - to the superior room :)

Went for dinner with my parents and my young children. Seemed nice and busy for a Friday evening, and food was very nice when it arrived. Good size portions, and would highly recommend the mini doughnuts for dessert!! Service did seem to be a bit slow, we arrived before 6 to try and avoid the rush but still didn't end up with food before 7. Don't know if that was just bad luck with everyone else ordering at the same time.

Beautiful pub. Good Sunday roast but we waited 45 minutes for dessert to arrive. I think they forgot about us because the moment I said we were going to cancel the desserts, they arrived to the table immediately.

So pleased to have stayed here at last. Lovely location. Lovely building. Amazing staff that are so helpful and welcoming, thank you Jessica who mustered up some phone chargers which we had forgotten. Great food options for vegetarians. Brilliant breakfast. Great having the complimentary quality Bramley bathroom products

A lovely venue - old world charm with modern comforts. The rooms were well appointed. We would like to suggest that a non-slip mat in the shower would be useful. Also if you have any mobility problems then book your room on the first floor would be a good idea. The staff were outstanding despite electrical problems and unseasonable very heavy rain. The restaurant menu was super - the grilled courgette starter and the flat iron beef steak were truly wonderful. Jessica was both helpful and friendly throughout our stay. Happy to recommend the Prince of Burford to family and friends.

We met friends for a light lunch in the dining room. The menu has a good choice of different sizes of dish and meat and vege options. Service was friendly and efficient. It was very quiet so good for getting a table and hearing conversation but it lacked a bit of atmosphere.

Substantial pub with rooms and restaurant located off of a roundabout. The location affords parking for a good number of vehicles. Only saw one disabled space available. The food is excellent, the service was what you would hope for. Pricing was around £25/ person for a 2 course late lunch without alcohol. Staff were friendly and helpful. Online, the rack rate was £161.00, but I am sure that can be bettered.

Four of us ate in the restaurant and were very happy with the quality of our meals. We were looked after by Brooke, who was attentive and very pleasant. Overall, a thumbs up. Our only criticism is it was so popular, parking spaces were at a premium.

Had a burger & chips £18 found that quite expensive. Lovely location and nice bar and restaurant area. Friendly staff. Great outside seating area.

I ordered the lunchtime burger, and even though it was more expensive than I'm used to, it tasted amazing. I saw the chef hand picking herbs from the garden. Some things I didn't like - when sitting outside and scanning the table, I couldn't locate the lunchtime menu. So I ordered at the bar (as a single person this meant my table was then taken, so made an awkward encounter) - My food was brought out before my drink so I had to re-ask for the drink, by which I had been waiting a while already. - when the food was given to be I didn't get given cutlery or told where to find the.. Found out when leaving they are just inside the door. I did ask for a napkin and still wasn't told they were just inside the door. - on a busy roundabout, so gets noisy with beeping and traffic however I think this is why it's quite compared to town. - not sure if the presentation of the burger was on purpose but made no difference to the taste. Positives - fresh dog water in bowls. - decor inside is lovely. - food quality - clean, lovely decorated toilets - free wifi

We asked the Prince of Burford team if our charity could have a small meeting space for the day and they could not have done more for us! They arranged a private table in the dining room, with a pot of tea and water and checked on us throughout the day but also respected times when they could see we were on calls. Lunch was amazing! Great location for us to meet and will definitely be back (if Mig and the team let us!)

Good food, service was slow due to change over time for serving staff!! Which could be looked at!?perhaps staggered changes!? As the two tables that arrived at that time, seemed to have been forgotten while staff chatted at the bar!!? Once we made them aware of the situation, service was good and polite!! Will return as enjoyable expireance as a whole!!

We turned up very early for lunch but were made to feel very welcome until service started. Didn’t get the name of our server (we were on table 4) but he is a real asset to your establishment. Very welcoming and friendly. We have booked to come back in 5 weeks time.

I had a fantastic five night stay at the Prince of Burford. The rooms have a particularly good fit out. The location is great and there is also parking at the hotel. The food is nice and the staff are friendly and helpful, particularly Yohan.
