Had some lunch here this week. Fish chip's & mushy peas with tartar sauce. Great service well cooked food I'm not a lover of mushy peas but these were superb and the best I've ever had along with a fantastic tartar sauce.

Great Sunday lunch. My wife had roast chicken, which was huge and I had roast beef. Both were excellent and highly recommended. Good beer, Hooky, and the wine list was excellent a lot of my favourite wines at an ok price. Highly recommended .

Our meal was excellent. The chef was very particular- I could see him working. My husband enjoyed his lamb compote and my fillet steak was cooked perfectly (easy to spoil a steak) but it was lovely. Waiters and bar staff very pleasant too, including Henry who seemed a little shy at first but soon relaxed and did a great job. Well done all round.

I just say this is a little gem. We were looking for somewhere for dinner before returning home to Kent and The Angel did not disappoint. Service was very friendly and food was delicious. Will absolutely return.

Great location, good food and a really nice beer garden. We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. It was good value for money. The room was large but a little bare, with a lovely shower.

We just experienced a thoroughly enjoyable experience at the Angel. We had a wonderfully warm welcome from all the staff. The pub and the gardens were beautiful, clean and the atmosphere friendly and relaxing. Our room was comfortable and immaculately clean. The decor was pleasing. The bed was comfortable. Our meal was excellent. The food was beautifully cooked and seasoned. I had trout, my companion had the bass. The wine we ordered, the house Pinot Grigio, this was served very cold and was delicious with our meal. The quality of the meal was excellent as was the value. We were impressed by the efficiency of the staff and the friendly rapport. We could see into the kitchens which were spotless and well run. The breakfast was also gorgeous. We will definitely be back to this delightful little gem in a fabulous location with easy distance to the main high street. Thanks team Angel, you should all be proud. We will definitely be back. Such a special experience. L Taylor

First, the great: excellent bed, lovely service, superb shower (unless one is tall), and very fine pub food in a splendid quiet location. Second, the rooms while spacious and pretty need a facelift: carpets and blinds are subpar.

I had lunch here with a friend just before the New Year. It was a last-minute change and on reflection, we're both glad we opted for the Angel instead. The surrounding area is extremely pretty and there is free parking nearby though as one might imagine in a picturesque part of the Cotswolds, spaces disappear quickly. The Angel is a lovely pub and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming as though you were a regular there. It was a busy time of day for the staff but they soaked it up. We weren't waiting long for drinks being ordered via table service and they gave us time to decide on our starters and mains. Both of us were enormously impressed with both courses we had - our starters and mains were different to each other. My steak was cooked perfectly and the hand-cut chips were something else (in a very positive way). The portions were a good filling size. I was so happy with the food and service that my pudding stomach emerged and I ordered the dessert special. We were both hugely impressed with the whole experience and openly talked about it there, which I don't recall having done so enthusiastically about anywhere else we'd had lunch or breakfast. I have no reservations whatsoever recommending the Angel and I'd be very happy to visit again. I didn't know of its reputation and having won awards in the past and I'd say from my own experience that they are very well-earned.

We couldn’t wait to come back to The Angel after our first trip to the Cotswolds and WOW it did not disappoint!! Tucked away from the high street, it is a beautiful pub with even better food - we had vegetable bhajis to start (absolute chefs kiss) and the fish & chips for our main. When I say that was the best fish & chips I’ve ever had in my life, I really mean it - the batter, the fish was SO fresh, the chips were cooked to perfection with the tastiest mushy peas and tartare sauce. We had the chocolate fondant to finish which was again perfection!! 100% one of our absolute favourites in the whole Cotswolds - very reasonably priced, the staff were so so friendly and just made you feel at home as soon as you walked in the door!! You cannot give this one a miss you won’t be disappointed!!

Lovely weekday late lunch after a recommendation from the staff at the Royal Oak after they had stopped serving food. Both of us had burgers (one special pork and chorizo and one beef) and loved them, really tasty and well cooked. Thanks so much! :)
