Very good food! A great welcome and dealt with the children in the party perfect. Would definitely revisit. Photo attached, although now that the damage to the top of the pie was me. We didn’t stay over so can’t comment on hotel
Lovely pub, stopped as we had been looking for somewhere dog friendly. Delicious home made pie, and ham, egg and chips. Pub very nicely decorated, pleasant atmosphere. Very small car park, but a free car park close by and on road parking if available.
Lovely meal with friends who were visiting the area. Highly recommend the real pies - NOT stew with a lid. Had a rather magnificent slow braise beef and peppercorn sauce pie with mash and veggies!
Somebody told us that the pies were the best in the country as we walked in. He is probably right.

We stopped off for lunch today in the pub and had a deliciously filling meal of mushroom and truffle pie which came with a generous helping of mashed potato, beans, carrots and cauliflower cheese all beautifully cooked. Husband had Korean BBQ burger with fries which was excellent apparently. Service
We enjoyed the Royal Oak. We had the fishcake salad and brisket/peppercorn pie. Despite being a peppercorn pie, it had too much pepper in my opinion. We still enjoyed our food however. Good drinks and staff were very pleasant
I can only comment on the dining experience in the pub as I did not stay on the accommodation. The roast is by far one of the best I've ever had, incredibly fragrant beef complimented with a luxuriously tasty gravy.

Good location very quiet at night. All staff members polite helpful and friendly at all times. Good quality breakfast service very good. If you want a good pie this is the place to enjoy one well worth trip.
Absolutely delicious pies with crunchy, perfectly cooked veg & creamy mash. I had the mushroom & truffle pie and it was scrummy. Pretty village and friendly staff too!
