Reviews The Wharf

Called in at the Wharf this evening on our return leg on the canal, ideally located next to the canal, lovely beer garden looking out across the canal .. We were told on arrival that there was only a cut down menu due to being short staffed.. basically consisted fish n chips, burgers, and loaded fries, along with starters... Would have liked a bigger choice, however the food was great and filled a gap! Quite a big gap, as large portions!... Was a Saturday evening, and you can tell it's a warm friendly pub, quite busy with locals / tourists & as the summer months come the beer garden would be a great place to relax in the evening 😊

A friendly pub with great food, it was Friday so it was Fish & Chips for us! The Pinot was fair and cold, the beer was struggling in the heat but we would definitely visit again!

Great place, right on the canal, great for boaters and gongoozlers. Great value grub, quick friendly service. Zero alcohol beer on tap.

Excellent food and service. So friendly as you walk in. Great prices for food and drink. Dogs welcome too in the bar area and outside. We had the special meat platter to share for two £30. Oh my goodness! Brilliantly cooked and so tasty 🤩Highly recommended to all 🎉🎉

Great canal side bar/restaurant. Plenty of room indoors & out. If the weather is good, drink or dine outside beside the canal. Friendly staff will help to make your visit a little more 😊

A pleasant pub in an off the main roads location. It is situated next to the canal and seemed very popular with locals and canal boaters alike. We arrived 10 minutes before they were closing the kitchen as they had organised a bbq and entertainment, but were welcomed in by the staff. We had a lovely meal in a great environment. The staff were attentive and the food was lovely and reasonably priced. If your passing I would recommend popping in for a drink or bite to eat.

Really nice, friendly and very good food. Not expensive. Very attractive service personnel and well worth a return visit. Apologies for my photo quality on this revue.

We were sent here by Richard, the director of a local company where we had gone for a meeting. Probably the cleanest pub toilets I have ever seen. The lovely waitress served us efficiently and it wasn’t long before another friendly lady brought out our food. We have never previously experienced cheesy chips with gravy, but it was a good experience. 3 plates, 4 drinks, all for £22. Definitely better than London prices.

This was reasonable but not all the food we ordered was great. The service was fine, but slow - only one chef in the kitchen. Location is excellent!

Great loaded fries, had 'The hangover' and would happily order again. Nice location along the canal, plenty of outside seating for those that have kids or pets.

Nice canalside pub in a great location. Unfortunately there was no chef on the day we wanted to eat so can't comment on the food, menu looked good with competitive prices

We stopped for a meal as we were passing by boat. The fish and chips were great and good value.
