Sunday roast dinner was very nice, plenty of veg and cauliflower cheese. The beef burger was very nice too. The staff were very welcoming. The place is clean. My only recommendation would be the outside front and back needs a bit of TLC, maybe this would be a future project but don't let this turn you away.
Went here on Sunday and found it to be very friendly to people and dogs.
The food looked so good we went back again today (Tuesday) and had a meal and it was gorgeous dogs were treated to some biscuits out of the jar on the bar and loads of fussing from landlady.
If you fancy going for a Sunday dinner that looks really good I would advise you book as they were very busy.
It has new owners that took it on in November and is an excellent pub that I recommend highly I will definitely call back when next down there

Nice pub serving good food all day in the middle of town. Friendly staff, good selection of drinks and varied, reasonably priced menu. Steak and Ale pie with mash was lovely and the oak smoked salmon was delicious!
Only popped in whilst away for the weekend. Quite quiet but it was a Sunday at 1pm. Very friendly staff and great service.

The Salterton Arms is a fantastic place to go for great food, great atmosphere, and a great time!! Also if your looking for service with a smile and a great laugh your at the right place! It isn't based in the main high street so unfortunately not everyone knows of its where about as the are no signs or adverts around the town or seafront! I have been coming to the Salt for many years now and I have to say it's never been better owned than it is now. Kayleigh and Chris are friendly and so approachable. They don't actually take up residence here though. Craig is the main chef. He's not just a fantastic cook who orders all the food in FRESH but he's full of fantastic and tasty ideas at a very reasonable price and regularly updates the menus. Craig works all the hours under the sun and more. Hes a great laugh and knows this place like the back of his hand. Craigs brilliant and so are they all! David is the GM, he has joined the team recently and is exceptional. Very efficient, always has a drink poured at the ready, so friendly and welcoming, confident and has the gift of the gab! Best GM I've met!! Harry the Supervisor is so efficient, helpful, kind and a great handy man. Harry is first to offer a helping hand, a menu, drink or just a smiling bubbly personality. A fantastic team member. Kyle has joined from across the road (Budleigh fish and chips) hes hard working, friendly, always willing to help, Kyle is great fun, has a fab sense of humour and you can guarantee he's always smilling. I think each and everyone of the staff so far are amazing and all great. I cannot say a bad word against any of them. They are all fab kind, helpful, and just completely willing to go above and beyond for anyone! Thanks all you guys for putting that extra effort in always and never hesitating to go that extra mile. Well done to all of you and for bringing this lovely place to life again! 😊 xxx

Nice friendly little pub, just off the main High Street. Staff were friendly and helpful. The place is clearly very dog friendly as the whole of the bar has "Dog Parking" carabiner clips for owners to attach their dogs leads.

I went here yesterday with family and our dog, we loved it! Very welcoming from staff and other customers who let us know dogs are welcome inside & there are free treats for them too. Nice touch! The food was tasty and great value too (I had the cod goujon sandwich). It arrived quickly, had a check back to make sure everything was okay & plates cleared fairly quickly once we'd finished too. Lady with red hair was lovely, great energy! Would highly recommend.
Second time visiting this great pub. Nothing fancy, it's just how a local pub should be, warm, welcoming service, well kept real ale and all the staple English pub grub at great value prices. Cheers again guys.
