If Budleigh Salterton is on your visit list this weekend, head on over to Oak Barn for your coffee and treats. Their coffee was good, better than most other cafes in Budleigh and the Chorizo Panini was good aswell. There's plenty of parking and just about everything is for sale in the Barn, it just depends on how big your credit card limit is. Drive down to Budleigh Beach afterwards to chip away at the calories you just added. Weekends will be busy as the tourists flock here from the city.
Wonderful decor and wood furniture on display. Always received with a warm welcome by the owner. The coffee area inside is very cosy with a fireplace in the center and whether you chose to sit outside or inside there is a variety of scones and cakes to chose from. The scones are the best here especially the almond scones. They do have Gluten free treats.
Tried this place twice for sandwich, first time we where to early, second time they where only doing soup. We ended up first time we coffee and cake and second time just walking out. On the plus side there cakes are delicious and I found a lovely ornament.
Dropped in on the spur of the moment on a very hot day. Lovely shaded outside seating and very cool indoors. Had cream teas……excellent and VERY generous portions. Very good coffee and lovely staff. Dog friendly too as a bonus.
They can make your day with happiness ☺️.
I am a traveller, in the Christmas holiday I went to Exeter, I make a plane to see Sidmouth, when I was on the way I saw this shop's signpost mentioned that cream tea, I am Asian and thought that cream tea means strong creamy milk tea they can serve me. After drive almost 4 miles, I decided to go back to this shop to test the cream tea 😂. Free parking space, when I asked the beautiful lady about cream tea, she explained to me well 😉. I decided why not try; I ordered scones, tea, chocolate brownies and lemon cake. With clotted cream and jam, oh! My God, I can't even think how tasty it was.
Inside and out a lovely and friendly environment. The fully antique decorated shop you can feel that you are in 17-18 century house but fully equipped with warm and cosy sitting. I took some photos, you can see it. Before I leave, the owner of the shop informed me that it is a family-run business; they also make hand made furniture for shoppers. Who making plans to go, Devon or Exeter I would suggest to try their food.
You would go back again and again 😀😀
While passing by we have decided to stop for a coffee and quic snack. No regrets. Amazing bacon and cheese scones. Very reasonable price too. Worth visiting
Called in for a quick lunch
Great sandwich and lovely salad
Delicious cream tea, variety of scones available I had the Cherry Bakewell one. Plenty of jam and good portion of cream. Best cream tea I've had in a long while.
Really had no idea what to expect but we're blown away with both the quality of food and drink, friendliness of staff and the gorgeous outdoor seating areas and views of the horses. Definately recommend
Stunning shop, very friendly staff and the food was delightful. Our son made them all laugh by spotting something in the shop and saying “ark at that there”! Proper Janner and he’s only 4! 🤦🏽♀️
