What a wonderful proper English pub..! Excellent local beer and first class meals. A warm welcome with friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Best fish and chips ever...
We always pop in for a meal on our last day of our boating holiday welcoming staff and friendly atmosphere and sometimes just for a drink we had a lovely meal Friday 27 September steak and ale and mushroom pie veg and New potatoes with gravy my husband had the pie, chips and salad lovely
Basic 'pub grub', but generous portions and reasonable prices. Three course Sunday roast is excellent value and you can 'go large' at the moment for an extra pound.
Lovely quaint little pub while on holiday with a gorgeous open fire ....had the offer on cod and prawns salad and chips ...lovely Hubby had the steak ...both enjoyed ..went back for Sunday 3 course...not so struck on the supermarket carved meat on the plate and the frozen roasties bar that rest was
Great food, great friendly service. We had a meal here on the last day of our holiday on the broads. This happened to also be my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary. I left a bag of decorations on the day of our arrival and when we arrived for our meal the staff had beautifully decorated our table. We
Good value for money and generally good across: cost, beer, food and experience. They have a good selection of beverages at a fair price. Food is normal pub food - 4/5. You do get big portions and it is good quality. Good outdoor space but needs updating inside and tidying up the managers office, wh
My husband and I visit The Yare every time we come to this area, food well priced, as for the review saying about the food coming from a freezer.. it is a pub not a slap up restaurant my dear! The food here is perfect every time, staff are friendly and always ready to serve customers, great choice o
The Yare looked closed from the railway but as Google said it was open we got off the train to visit. Quite dark inside but friendly. We had an hour until the return train and was told food would be cooked as soon as we ordered. Burgers were nice. Soft rolls and decent chips. The service was fast an
Nice pub, a bit dark inside. Food is good and service is good as long as you don't get the owner (the tall skinny one) serve you. He has obviously forgotten how to smile and no one taught him any manners. He's also tried to overcharge me before but got no apology.
Highly recommend Sunday lunch. I had the beef. Very tasty, plenty of vegetables, great roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. Lovely lady checked everything was okay. Will definitely return.
Good quality pub grub. Visited The Yare in April 2015 and I don't know when the previous reviews were written, but the food was good honest pub grub. I ate there three nights running and found the food tasty and filling. It's not a gastro pub but when you've been walking on the fens during the day
I have eaten here for the first 3 days of my holiday and all the meals have been tasty and good value for money. Beer very well kept and reasonably priced. Staff very polite and helpful. No reason for complaint at all. Everything a good English pub should be.
Really enjoyed our food and nice service. The pub is dated but nostalgic although it could be a little cleaner. Highly recommend the steak and kidney pudding!
1st timers here, but will certainly not be the last... We both had the Steak, ale and mushroom pie with veg. WOW!! Staff, food and the environment we're exceptional. Lucky us. Our boat is moored 50 yards away..
Food whilst simple pub grub is very nice. Enjoyed the steak and mushroom pie. Downside there was a bunch of people enjoying themselves near the bar we couldnt have a conversation ourselves as they where so loud and swearing a lot. Im all for having a laugh and joke but it was only 7.30 and full of p
