The breakfast was delightful, but the ambiance was even better. It's a calm and peaceful place, perfect for enjoying a coffee or breakfast after a nice walk. Highly recommended!

Best ice-cream I've eaten, and I measure it better than Thornton's my previous favourite. With the ice-cream comes lovely people, friendly and most important generous with the scoops of frozen nectar!

First visit today to The Old Mill Retreat Café, only live 5 mins away and pass it every morning before going down the river for my early morning bike ride… so me and my wife decided to take a drive down to pop in today and we was very impressed, impressed with the service and information concerning the parking, 2 hours free with the QR code the lady’s give you when you order… food was very nice… I had the classic Breakfast and Emily had a cheese and onion toasty with 2 tea’s 😋 yum yum .. lovely atmosphere sitting along side the river… my only criticism would be the table was a bit wobbly from the uneven floor… but if that’s all I’ve got to critique… your doing a good job.. value for money and lovely ingredients .. didn't have a photo of the café but had a lovely shot of the river side that’s just a skip and a hop away 😊

We hired a kayak down the road and popped in for a cup of tea and egg roll. Service is very friendly and food and drinks are reasonably priced and excellent. As a customer you can even get. 2 hr parking permit. Will definitely come back.

I love to stop by when I am cycling. I indulge in a double cone. Today I had the best Rum and Raisin ever. The Staples Ice Cream is fantastic. Just the right reward after 40km ride to London and back.

Made a detour off M25 for a country coffee on route to the Midlands from London. More a take away venue than a cafe, though there is seating. Grab your coffee cup & fill it here with a fresh cappuccino & choose from fresh bakes or cooked breakfast, then enjoy a stroll next to the pretty canal. It helped that it was a beautiful sunny day.

Had a pit stop here with my daughter and her furry boy. The lovely homemade cakes with the tea and coffee were welcomed after our 5 mile walk before making the 5 mile return walk. They even cater for our four legged friends so ours enjoyed a doggy sausage and a homemade doggy biscuit. A nice little spot with outdoor sitting with an area of covered seating which looks like the canopy goes back in good weather. Would stop by again if we are walking that way.

The female chef is nice & friendly. The woman on the till has the knack of always making you feel either a bit of a nuisance, or just generally unwelcome. She is more suited to being a traffic warden or a New York immigration officer.

Visited for a snack on Sunday 23rd July. Sausage and egg baguette, absolutely lovely. Egg cooked just the way I like it and the braughing sausages are lovely. Good atmosphere around the place.

A very nice little cafe in the Lea Valley park. Mostly outside seating, but there are a few tables inside or in a large shelter for when the weather is bad. A good range of basic food available. The bacon and sausage baps are very tasty. As canoeist we visit here regularly and always have a friendly welcome.

Top quality food in a great location which is always served quickly and with a smile. The Breakfasts are always hot and fresh and you just have to love those Braughing Sausages. Just to top it off, you also get two hours free parking with any purchase.

Its one of my favourites, I just love sitting here and watching the world go by. If you have a couple of chairs or blanket take them along as the picnic benches (which are covered at the moment) get busy. There's nearly always a queue but it soon goes down, lots of choice and the food prepared fresh for you ... Great coffee too always a bonus. It's a great area to explore as well, close to the canal network It's the perfect place to start or finish, it can get busy but all the best places do !
