Beautifully updated countryside pub with a traditional exterior and tastefully upgraded interior. The staff are welcoming and efficient. The food was hearty without being too much. Plus, as a bonus, they did great coffee too.
A lovely, well kept country pub. Popped in for a couple of drinks with friends on a Friday lunchtime. Nice selection of drinks and excellent, friendly service.
We stayed in the family room last night. We felt welcomed but didn't book dinner as we weren't hungry. A bit later we were THOSE people who suddenly change their minds. The manager went out of his way to set a table and make sure we were catered for perfectly. Every member of staff was welcoming...e
We stayed at the Woolpack inn for one night to split up a lengthy drive we were doing. We stumbled across this place and by chance they had a room.
I cannot recommend this place enough. Firstly, the grounds are beautiful and I’d imagine in the summer it would be amazing to sit outside.

I have driven past this place so many times and thought that looks nice...well I was right..we received a warm welcome and were soon seated in the comfortable restaurant. The fish and chips was excellent and the tartae sauce fab too .an excellent choice for lunch.. First class service too.
This is a really culinary experience in terms of the food. It's just amazing top of the range food and very reasonable prices for the quality. Not to be missed. Just it's a little of the M3 but the excursion off the road is worth every bite.

After much debate, I've come to the conclusion that this is the best burger I've ever had. Messy, but so tasty my mouth is watering writing this mine hours later.

Really lovely roast dinner in great pub/restaurant. Only downside was badly behaved kids running through the back door and through the side door, making the room chilly. Parents' fault not the pub's. Great service, fast and courteous.
The Woolpack is a lovely hotel. We stayed for one night in the family suite. Some nice touches, like real milk in a little bottle for making tea in our rooms. The atmosphere, the vintage look and the service was all exceptional. I had the risotto for lunch and it was delicious. Filled me up nicely with lovely flavours.
I then had the sorbet which was coconut and it was lovely and refreshing. I also tried the local gin from Winchester
We arrived late, after the kitchen had closed, the management did everything possible to make sure we had something to eat.
We had dinner and breakfast both of which were very good.
Our room for the night was very pleasant. Nice size and we'll equipped.
