Reviews The Park Gate Inn

It's the best pub on the planet! Well, maybe not - however what Chris and Dawn are trying to achieve here makes this place unique in today's diminishing pub trade. There is always an extensive choice of ales, most of them locally brewed and all are tasty, well looked after and reasonably priced. Add to this plenty of live music and some decent pub grub and The Park Gate is really on top of its game! Having been in the pub before it turned into an Indian restaurant some years ago (leaving extremely disappointed) it seems as though they have really captured the essence of what a 'country' pub should be - that IS NOT fancy tables, pretentious food and over expensive corporate pig swill (or lager). It IS friendly service, delicious beer, good food and most of all a place where you can go and relax! Well done Dawn, Chris and the team - long may it last.........

We hosted a christening party here at the weekend - Dawn was fantastic on the run up to the event with helping organise timings and food. They decorated the room for us so we didn't need to worry. The staff were very helpful and ensured the food was replaced when low. Brilliant place, lovely people and will certainly be returning to enjoy the beer garden.

Absolutely wonderful country pub with a huge garden and activities for children of all ages, with a real fire and cosy seating inside for adults to relax. Live music and cocktail nights always go down really well! And the new lunch menu is a great idea and really lovely too. Will be returning again and again and again!

A quirky, unusual pub with a super atmosphere ... the best part is the lovely landlady, Dawn and her fellow conspirator, Chris and their staff. Cocktails or beers aplenty ... Lunch anyone?

Starting to be my local. Kid and dog friendly. Lovely friendly, welcoming staff. Dawn will rustle you up a ham or cheese roll, or you can order in a takeaway, excellent idea!!

Came to the Fireworks on Saturday - a bit muddy, but to be expected! Great fireworks and massive fire to keep warm by. Really enjoyed Dan Greenaway - great family atmosphere.

This is the best pub in bromsgrove. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Always feel like we are welcome. The people are fantastic and the open mic nights are fab. If you want to go somewhere with great booze, great people and a good laugh, this is the place!! Dogs and kids are welcome too.

One of the best real ale selectiins in the area for many many miles, there can be upto 16, yes 16 on hand pull. There is also a good range of ciders, lagers and whiskeys, plus many many more. There are also music and beer festivals held with some of the best up and coming musicians to be seen, like Josh Brown and Alex rainsford plus even some of the locals playing too plus these festivals are free!. The pub is ran be a dedicated team who do a fantastic job, well played guys

Great selection of booze. But, no food! Do not despair order your own take away for delivery, plates and cutlery provided without the washing up. Thanks to the crew for a relaxed and friendly evening to see my daughter off to Canada.

Had my daughters 7th birthday party here and it is perfect location! The pub had a bouncy castle that we could hire at a very reasonable price with no hassle at all. Dawn and her husband who own it are lovely and the bar maid was very lovely and helpful too. There is a lovely undercover area and grounds with a play area for the children to venture off to aswell. Would defiantly recommend this venue

We just celebrated a 50th birthday with a festival themed weekend at the Park Gate Inn and had an absolute blast. We used the lower field as our base and partied with friends and family in the day and camped overnight to avoid taxis home! The owners were amazing - thank you Chris and Dawn for helping us to organise and assisting us with last minute requests. The weather was great, the drinks were cold and there was plenty for the kids to do. Great time had by all - would definitely recommend holding an event here.

Had a great kids party held out the back. The pub went out of their way on the landlords day off to make sure our party had bar service. Thank you so much, really appreciated :)

What a lovely pub the Park Gate Inn is. Great beer: usually at least 3 lovely cask conditioned ales. Great atmosphere: friendly, welcoming company and bar staff. Crisps and scratchings, but no food unless you order in a take away, which is fine, by the way. If you have a celebration, the lounge bar can be booked for your party. If you need, regular DJ's and catering can be recommended. This is a thoroughly recommended out of town, English country pub at its best. On a winter evening, there is nothing better than standing in front of the wood burning stove supping a lovely real local pint. In the summer, the huge beer garden is the perfect setting.

A beautiful country pub with lovely owners. We had our wedding reception here and they really did us proud the way they dressed the room for us. We ordered a buffet for the guests and the food was amazing. Definitely worth a visit even if just for a pint in the beautiful gardens

This is in a way an unusual place but in a good way. It is out side Bromsgrove limits. They don't do food but they allow u to order in Pizza, Indian Chinese etc. It is a good place for large family birthday party. We went to 5 birthdays from the same family. The family of veggies put on a buffet. The beer is good and there is a good atmosphere. Over covid there has been a lot of building outside buildings. People stay overnight in campervans and caravans for these events. U would have to arrange this with the pub for details. It is a great place for family gatherings with people who come from all over the UK.

We held a 50th birthday party at the weekend and despite numerous other events taking place at the same time Dawn and Chris and their team made us feel really well looked after. They have been accommodating from the start of our plans and nothing was ever too much trouble. Will definitely be back again. Thanks from us all.

Superb cosy pub with great beers and a great atmosphere. What better after a walk around the local rural paths than to relax in a friendly pub with a quality pint? Loads of space out the back, a play area, covered seating, heating, function room, bar. Fantastic pub.

To the owners - what do you know of the history of The Park Gate Inn? We have ancestors from the 1800's who were the Innkeepers for a time. I would love to be able to connect back. We have a photo also from 1936

This is the unexpected gem you're all looking for! We held our wedding blessing here in October and having been married already, we were keeping it low key, but still wanted to have a special day to celebrate with friends and family. Dawn, Marie and the team at the Park Gate Inn did WAY more than we could have ever expected. The weather turned on us during the week and the Saturday of the party was meant to be the worst. The team laid the room out with tables and chairs for guests, dressed the tables and provided more than I ever expected including the awesome dance floor with disco lights! I can not say enough good words about the service we got on the day, it felt so special and nothing was too much trouble, our doggy best man was even spoilt with treats. If you're looking for a venue, do not overlook the Park Gate. Worth a visit for sure!
